2019-2020 Columbia VP&S

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Todays the day boys. I can feel it in my PEE PEE. They thrum with potential energy

I sort of having the same feeling in my PEE PEE. My brain however, says we should trust the person who told us that it would be next week given that it corresponds with what MSAR says (March 2).

Here’s to hoping my PEE PEE know better than my brain!

Did someone say PEE PEE
Depraved

To be completely clear, my primary theory is that columbia autorejects anyone who applies from the same IP address as any sdn poster. I believe all acceptances have already been sent out. I firmly will stand by this.
I believe the opposite. The most neurotic posters here are the ones who will be the highest yield. All WLs have already been sent, and all of our acceptances are coming.

Also sorry to break it to you guys but I’m not feeling it. I don’t think decisions come out today.

Cmon Columbia don’t miss the opportunity to make someone’s Friday today.

And to put the rest of us out of our misery...

Just caught the R from Chicago. After a WL from Pitt, I honestly can’t say I’m expecting much at all.

Wow I’ll know if I’m going to Columbia after this weekend. Good luck everybody!!!

Is there an accepted student's FB page? I'm hoping to connect with people, and maybe look into housing near campus. I don't think Bard hall is for me...

Also, if anyone is considering nyu or penn vs columbia, please reach out. Down to those 3 for me, and I'm trying to make up a pro/con list

Considering penn vs Columbia assuming I get in to both which is unlikely lol

You even think about giving up free tuition of NYU?

Technically true, but I do put stock in the idea that affordability will shape who my peers will be. Not that people who don't need FA are awful- I just don't want to be surrounded by the elite class (exaggerating here a bit). Big plus for NYU of course, but even there I've heard some cynical comments claiming that free tuition just subsidizes the next gen of plastic surgeons...

Free tuition means nothing for MSTP applicants 😛

How do you already know about penn?

Hmm, in that case, I think debt-free would be better than tuition-free. I think that NYU would attract more elite class than Columbia (and Penn) because NYU doesn't take into account your financial status at all (everyone gets full tuition). Columbia, being debt free, is more generous to low-income folks and I would imagine would be more likely to have a good spread of folks from different backgrounds. i.e I really don't think NYU has an advantage over the other schools on affordability, at least when it comes to attracting "non-elite class" folks. (I could totally be wrong though, and I have not looked up statistics to back me up.)

FYI for future applicants reading this thread, bassett acceptances are all out- some in December and more in feb. Excited for everyone else who’s soon to find out for normal MD, can’t wait for next year

how are y'all feelin? do we think tomorrow's the day?
I was born with mediocre stats and mediocre ECs. Every morning I get silence from my top choice, every afternoon I get waitlists from my safeties. At night, I lie awake in agony until the rejections put me to sleep.

Edit: this is a joke and a modified spongebob quote. I was just be dramatic because the wait is agonizing.

I hope it's tomorrow but I'm not feeling super confident after catching a WL on Friday from a school I also felt great about after interview
