My status just updated to preliminary review completed. Has anyone who received this message not heard anything yet? I submitted late like 8/21/19 so this is semi quickish. (relatively speaking)

Mine has been updated to Preliminary review as well, unsure exactly when it happened. Last time I checked (~a week ago) it was still secondary complete.

Does this usually mean II/Waitlist? Or doesn't mean anything.

No idea but that is a quick turnaround! Minue went from preliminary review assigned to preliminary review complete after about ~3 weeks. Hopefully, we hear some good news next week!

Mine has been at preliminary review complete for about a week and a half and still nothin. Hope an II is on its way! I submitted my secondary on Aug 17.

I'm still at admissions screening complete. Submitted early/mid September. Looking back, my essays for FAU are nowhere as good as my others. Despite a 512 and 3.9+ gpa with great EC's, I dont think ima get in. Would love to go there and def wish I took more time on the essays, just wanted to submit as fast as possible

I'm an undergrad student at FAU and spoke directly with admissions and several medical students there. The message was clear, FAU really cares about stats, so you have a pretty good chance. Don't get me wrong, they are super nice and select great students, but stats seem to be the top priority, so your essays may not hurt you that much.

Really hope this is the case. Thanks for the insight

I've also heard the same! I feel like this is the case with most Florida schools actually (except FSU). @DoctorOrdinary you may be fine in this instance! Also, I'm sure your essays were fine!

Personally, I submitted August 12th and have been at "Admissions Screening Complete" since September 19th... (I'm lower stats and thought my essays were great lmao)

tbh i didnt really know this about florida schools, did you also speak with admissions committees and stuff previously about that?

My status finally changed to 'preliminary review in progress' this morning! Been stuck on preliminary review assigned for weeks.

My status is still "secondary application completed" I submitted pretty late and my casper scores were only sent around 3 weeks ago. I did not get any acknowledgment that they received them, should I send an application update saying that my casper results have been sent? (I would also mention that I recently made Chemistry Honor Roll for my upcoming graduation).

Anyone else waitlisted? Looking at last year’s thread and I can’t find that much info on waitlist movement.

60% of the class comes off the waitlist, with movement starting early may.

Waitlisted doesn't occur until after your interview. Waitlisted, rejections, and acceptances roll out post interviews. Last year they started Mid October. Not sure if this year is the same.

I interviewed in September and was waitlisted. Maybe they changed things this year?

For data purposes: submitted secondary August 12th; Admissions Screening Complete September 19th; now at Preliminary Review Assigned (October 16th).

it's possible. during your interview, did they tell you a date for when people would hear back? I think they said november for mine.
For us they told us we would hear back on Oct. 15... I interviewed on Sept. 11 if to put things in perspective.

Was at first II day and no response yet

This week's interviewees were told a decision would be updated on the portal on Nov 8th

Sometime within the last 24 hours my status went from secondary complete to admissions screening complete. Not sure what this means, but hoping to hear something back soon. I submitted on August 31st but my CASPer score wasn’t sent out until about 2 weeks ago

My status also just changed to this and my CASPer was also sent out about 2 weeks ago. Hoping this is a good sign. Good luck!

Very helpful - thanks. I interviewed 1st week of October so that is probably why. My guess is you were in the first group of decisions. Next one should be early November. Their waitlist has a decent turnover so hoping the best for you. How was your interview experience?
The interview felt very laid back and not super stressful. It was one of my first interviews, so looking back there were many things that I would have worded differently or brought up. Unfortunately I cannot change that now. Wishing the best to all of you, and hoping that we have a lot of luck this cycle!

How long was the interview? Also, how did you like the school?

I returned an interview date for next week just now. Had to pick a later time. If anyone wants earlier just go in and click cancel interview and it will give a dropdown if available choices. 10/24 now available. Good luck all!

It’s my Alma mater so I was super comfortable there and there was a few familiar faces that I saw during the interview (although I didn’t know any of the faculty that interviewed me).

The interview itself was one hour with two separate 30 minute sessions.
