does anyone know if Alternate students can send a Letter of Intent to FAU besides the online updates? thank you!

Was told at my interview we’d be notified today of the decision but my portal still says “admissions committee scheduled” and haven’t heard anything yet. Any one else in the same boat or has gotten an acceptance today?

Does FAU accept letters of interest or is it just the 500 words portal update?

"Admissions committee review complete" today, Monica mentioned we'd hear back this Friday! fingers crossed and good luck everyone🤓
 
Can I write a quick statement of interest in the update portal or should I send an email instead with an attached pdf? Or does FAU not accept LOIs?

You're not going to as far as I can tell haha. I was accepted weeks ago and the email didn't come. I spoke with a couple of other accepted students and the same for them. It may come after April 30th or something, I'm not sure, but don't worry about it.

How long did you wait until you checked the portal? Did it update right at 2pm? Not getting a call is gonna make me anxious haha
 
I received the rejection email today and my portal says “passive withdrawal.” Does anyone know what this means? I haven’t received any other communication from this school since submitting my secondary.

I got this from the AAMC website:

“This action should be used when an applicant whose application has been processed by AMCAS, but fails to meet the application requirements set by the individual medical school, and who by virtue of failing to meet such requirements is removed from consideration by the medical school.”

sounds kinda harsh, not gonna lie lol

I saw that too but am confused which requirements I didn't meet -- I went back through and checked everything. All looks fine. This is even my second time applying and I didn't have an issue last year. I emailed them so I guess I'll find out haha. I thought I'd have a little more love since I'm an FAU alumni!

Oh I see! Yeah, my portal said that too and I’m confused as well. They usually use that classification if you don’t turn in your secondary or something. Hopefully they can clear things up!
 
Finally got that Pre-II R. Stuck on "admissions screening complete" since February. Jerks.

Update if anyone is interested — they replied saying:

“The Committee on Admissions at the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University has completed its selection of the class entering Fall 2021. Applicants receive the emailed letter, and their Secondary application is also withdrawn from our Medical Admissions Portal.
We thank you for applying to the Schmidt College of Medicine and send you our best wishes.”

Has anyone received any info about seat deposits or formal transcript submission
 
For those who got the R-did you get an email or just check your portal? Mine currently says "current status-not accepted" so is that they are still working or my application has been rejected?
