I decided last minute not to used my school's review committee. File was complete 8/5 and haven't heard anything since. Any idea if using faculty letters over a committee letter effects chances of getting an interview?

Anyone know what time the interview ends at?

Thanks! Any tips for interviewing?
It was very very laid back! Very conversational as well. The weirdest questions I got was what do I think about socialistic medicine and if I think of myself as a controlling person.
Do come up with an interesting fact about yourself though. If Dr. Kennedy thinks the fact is boring he tells you it is and asks you for a different one

Thank you! Last question: what is the interview format? Is it only a 1 on 1 with Dr. Kennedy? Thanks again!

You’ll have 3-4 interviews. The first two are closed book so the interviewers only have your activities and personal statement and not your GPA or MCAT score. After those two you’ll have a checkout interview with either Dr. Kennedy or Dr. Arnold. If you have it with Dr. Arnold you still have to talk to Dr. Kennedy afterwards. The checkout interview is literally just them looking at your resume and your grades. It’s just an opportunity for them to ask about anything that may come up during the committee review. The checkout interview lasts less 5 five minutes and the first two are about 20-30 minutes long

I spoke to a resident that went to Shreveport and she said something about going talk to the dean? I was under the impression that this would be viewed as pestering but she made it seem like it is something that is necessary.

Anyone have input on this?

What is this in regards to?

What is this in regards to?

Admissions; I’m not sure if she means that you’re supposed to schedule some type of visit where you talk with the dean.
I’m fairly confused myself. She said she applied a few times and that when she spoke with the dean he said that she didn’t come talk to him.
I’m not sure if this is regarding reapplying following not being accepted or what else it would refer to.

On their website, they advise multiple times to not contact Dr. Kennedy etc about advice on your app if you re-apply since they are busy busy people.

When were you complete?

Did they say anything about a decision timeline?
They did not say anything about when they would make a decision but I know many Early Decision applicants that received either acceptance or rejection within 4 days of interviewing.

I got my letter the Monday after the interview. I'm not sure if the committee meets weekly though. If it helps, the letter was dated on a Thursday.

That is so quick! Interviewed on 11/5 and radio silence so far. To confirm, did you get an email too? Hope you get off the WL!

Does anyone know if they accept updates/intent letters?

I know they take updates because they told me to send in my fall grades when I get them. I don’t know about letters of intent so I don’t want to make a recommendation there.

I got an II today too! IS, LM 70.

Can anyone comment on how soon they tell you your exact interview date? The only other II I've had, I signed up through a portal and knew my date immediately. Can we expect it this week, or will it be closer to the actual interview if we get one of the later dates?
