Has anyone OOS who was placed on the II waitlist been invited for an interview yet?

I read a post on this thread where someone said half the people at their interview were pulled from the waitlist, so that sounds promising. Definitely better than a rejection! Awful playing this waiting game though.

I saw on MSAR that OOS applicants only have a ~5 percent acceptance rate post interview. Anyone see this as a red flag? I am thinking of canceling my interview

It goes down to zero percent if you cancel!

Maybe a lot of OOS students ended up choosing other med schools?

here's the data from two cycles ago - 5062 OOS applicants ->663 interviews -> 74 acceptances -> 39 matriculants

They have about an 11% post II acceptance rate for OOS

Oof, definitely an uphill battle for us out of staters...

After we submit the secondary form, are we supposed to get a "complete" email? After I paid the fees, I can't go back to my application any more and I haven't received any confirmation emails.

I got an email that said your online form has been submitted the day I submitted. Then a week later, an email saying your application has been received. Then II email 10 days later.

Edit: the portal gives very little info.

to the OOS ppl with IIs, do y'all have plans on how you're getting to Morgantown and finding a hotel/lodging? I'm having a hard time finding flights to Morgantown the day before my interview :/

I'm most likely flying into Pittsburg, but haven't made the flight yet. I'm not interviewing till November, so hopefully, I can get an A to my top choice before then and not have to spend money.

I've made this drive many times (went to pitt undergrad and had some friends at WVU). It's a very easy drive

Bonus - if you have USAA, they’ll waive the under 25 rental car fee

I live a few hours away, so I requested that I be put up the night before with their student host program. If that doesn't work out, I'll suck it up and do the drive twice that day. Sorry, I know that isn't very helpful!

looks like from previous years, people get pulled off the pre-II WL and get IIs and acceptances. It's not a soft R like some other schools
