Last year I don't think a single A was given out directly after the initial A wave. Does that mean any interviews in late-January/early-February are just interviews for the waitlist?

I doubt it. I'm friends with an M1 who was directly accepted in March and one of their past promotional interviews said 8% of the class had Zoom interviews which technically started in March so I think As are less common, but not impossible.

Could have been A off the WL though, which I believe is what AM1233 was wondering.
