2020-2021 Colorado

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
nope.

not just this school in particular, but any MD school is not worth it at this point.
what if they just sent you the secondary tho? why would they still be wasting time with screening primaries and sending secondaries if they arent giving out more IIs?

Idk where you are at in your cycle but if you would attend here over other places you may have an acceptance to then yeah put your secondary in... especially if the $100 is not much to you.

As you alluded, my original response was to somebody who said that they forgot to do the CUSOM secondary. I am not sure what the SDN adcom members would say about receiving a manually-reviewed secondary at this point, such as your case.

If you don't expect much, you can't be disappointed. Go for it if you can! Wishing you the best!

Just noticed on my portal that it says "App is ready, and is under review." Has the "under review" part always been there or does it mean someone is actively looking at my app and I should expect a decision soon (II or R)? I am hopeful because I love CO

mine has said and under review since submission

Me! In state submitted mid July. Would be nice to hear back either way. Have they sent out any pre II rejections yet?
+1 Here as well. In-state, did grad school at CU Anschtuz, work on campus....waiting waiting waiting. Submitted end of August, radio silence 🤐
Feeling hopeful there are still people on here getting IIs, and that people are posting interview dates in January (as I know they interview for sure through February, and in the past have interviewed into March). I JUST WANT TO KNOW.

Yeah, same lol 7/17 complete date and nothing. Also was top tier waitlist here last year but did not make it off. Thought that would get me somewhere faster this cycle but apparently my assumption was wrong.

Samesies. OOS, but with really strong state ties. Complete end of August.

For those who have interviewed, are there MMI situations in any of the interviews as I have heard they follow a hybrid MMI format?

Is anyone unable to log in to the portal completely? Whenever I try it just never logs me in and almost refreshes the log in page.

Any other update for the 12-11 folks?

So I am an OOS applicant and my interview is in two weeks. I was looking at the MSAR for Colorado, specifically at the Tuition, COA, and average graduate indebtedness. A handful of applicants have shared on this forum their concerns about being an out of state student at their school due to the high tuition. I too am concerned about this. However, I am a little confused as to how the average graduated indebtedness on MSAR shows 202K when the COA times 4 for IS is about 272K and for OOS is about 376K. That averages out to 324K. I understand 86% received financial aid, but I recall someone mentioning that OOS only really received about 6K in aid. So, I am not sure how the average indebtedness is only 202K because 202K seems manageable, but if there is not much aid for OOS, then I am much more worried.

Can't help but think they average the 25% of students who can pay for med school outright with the students who need to take 100% loans to reach those numbers. Just guessing tho

I think it also takes into account other scholarships, HPSP, things like that. Also, the COA is an estimate, you can probably make it lower depending on your rent and other bills... hopefully?
