For volunteer activities, if we started out as a volunteer for a community engagement program (i.e. tutoring program at underserved schools), and then got hired and PAID to lead this program, can we not list the leadership/paid position as "volunteering" even though it was community engagement-related, because we got paid?

You can specify the dates when you were a volunteer. Once you get paid, you are no longer considered a volunteer unless you serve for one of those national service organizations where you receive a stipend.
 
Everyone who had their interviews already, do you have any tips/suggestions on how to prepare? What to expect?
 
Interviewed here earlier this week, was very laid back and conversational. I was worried about hard questions but I was pleasantly surprised. I was impressed by how they managed the interviews and the woman who controlled the zoom break rooms and transitions. Overall was a great experience. They really only asked me "why medicine" and the rest was conversational.

Has anyone else been unable to enter more than 5 activities in the volunteering section?

You should get your secondary as soon as they receive your primary. I got mine a day or 2 after my primary was verified. They are opening up another campus in Arizona this year so they still have lots of IIs to give out.
 
Did anyone who's interviewing this upcoming week receive the pre-recorded videos to watch before the interview? In the email they said they would send us videos to watch Friday prior to our interview week but I haven't received anything.

I flew from CA to PA, and then to Omaha to attend 3 interviews all in 5 days. I was tired as hell at the last interview, which was Creighton. Too tire to attend the hey wagon ride party. Creighton's students, faculty and staff were incredable. I fell in love with creighton after the interview. The enchiladas in omaha and phoenix (2nd look) were yummy. Hi! Whoever has interviewed already, how early did you guys log on to your zoom meeting? Or did you click it like a minute before? Thanks!!
 
I haven't interviewed here specifically, but I think you want at least 5-10 minutes early in case you have technical glitches or need to update/download a software or your computer restart or audio troubleshooting. There's just a variety of things you don't want to go wrong in the minute before.

I interviewed here a couple weeks ago and as above just log in 5-10 min early. There's a nice woman who kinda briefs you on the process and tells you who your interviewer is and then places you in a breakout room where your interviewer will join when they're ready. Good luck!!

i picked 10/19 just cause I'm not doing anything else next Monday, but I reaaaaally doubt the day you pick matters. just bring your personal A game to the zoom meeting and shine, yo

There was a lot of time to ask questions in the bigger Zoom group (during/after the Dean's welcome) and in the smaller breakout rooms with students. It might be a good idea to have a few questions prepared! The presentations may also spark some questions as well.
 
Late September interviewees- does anyone remember if they said we'd hear by Oct 15th? Or did they say to expect results next week?

During the info session I attended (Oct 2nd), the admissions reps said if we were accepted then we would be likely to get our first choice campus. So whatever you selected for your campus would be where you attended

*edit: That being said I had interviewers from both campuses; campus choice has little influence on where your interviewers are from!
 
From the info session I attended, it seems you are only interviewing for the campus you choose. They said they got the expected rates of how many people will be applying to either campus. I don’t think there is a preferred campus option, just choose which one you wanted. They did say they would work with people towards the ends, but also said that which campus you chose would not influence their decision of whether they accept you. This was at least the vibe that I got from what I recall that day.

I spoke to the dean and he said that if they choose to accept you and there are spots open at the campus you picked, they will offer you that. However, if they are no spots open at the campus you chose, they will offer you a spot at the other campus.
 
Just saw it today, but II yesterday 4pm PST. Complete the third week of September. URM 3.5/511

I am on the ADCOM. It depends on how many applicants we have. We usually give out between 700-800 interviews and can accept anywhere from about 200-400 people. Since we have two campuses now things will shift a bit, but since this is the first year I can't predict exactly what those numbers will be.
