Just received my Secondary completion email (delayed due to Casper). For those of you who received II, how long did you have to wait after receiving the completion email?

I submitted my secondary on 8/28 but was not complete until 9/20 due to CAsper. I still still haven’t heard anything.

I'm fairly certain the committee meets once monthly on the first or second Thursday of the month. The last committee meeting I was aware of was 05 Nov. This seems to line up with what was being posted on last year's forum as well. Unless someone has some insider information that is my assumption.

However, it seems as if the university also puts out decisions sporadically after the meeting so anything is possible apparently lol.

the above link has the statistics for the 2021 entering class so far. I believe this is Quillens first release of these stats for the cycle.
Makes me feel a little better knowing out of 772 instate applications so far they only gave out 61 interviews, which is essentially a 7% chance of getting an interview and then 22 acceptances so there's plenty of room for more acceptances. Fingers crossed for good outcomes for us all here!

for those accepted, when is the deposit due by?

Neurotic math time!! If the same ratio of IS applicants were offered IIs this cycle as last cycle, there are still 243 IIs to be sent out! 190 if they interview the exact same # of IS

Congrats! I believe we were both on the waitlist up to the end last cycle, hopefully we both hear good news this time around! Do care to share when you were complete, curious to how far they’ve made it to.
Hey! Yes we were both on the waitlist up to the end last cycle, wishing you good things this time! I was complete 8/25

yeah definitely looks a lot of interviews/acceptances left to give. Quillen has received about 500 more applications than they do on a normal year. Seems like they’re moving slower than usual giving interviews/acceptance.

I'm not sure what did it say? I know some schools were opting out ealier but I wasn't aware Quillen was one of them.
They said they had been made aware of an “unusual situation regarding VITA” and would waive it. And that it was “unfortunate situation but we do not want to hold you responsible for program inefficiencies”

Very interesting, honestly if they aren't requiring it anymore then that's great.

By the way, does anyone know when the committee meets next? From last year's thread, it seemed to have occurred on December 12th and I was wondering if we could expect the same this year.

A “university professor” from ETSU looked at my LinkedIn profile 3 days ago.... hoping that means some good news soon :O

Just received the acceptance call! I interviewed Oct. 12th and was waitlisted. Last cycle I interviewed in late February and was rejected. So excited to get the opportunity to be a part of such a wonderful school!

For the stat goblins:
512, 3.9, meh to kind of good ECs (No research at all), IS

Best of luck to everyone!

With a heavy heart, I've declined my acceptance. I absolutely loved everything about this school and they were my first acceptance which was a life-changing phone call. I am only turning down my acceptance here because I've received a free ride at a school closer to home that is high ranked and that I also love.
Good luck everyone and I hope to one day work with you all as fellow physicians.

I interviewed on the week of Nov 16th, but I have yet to receive a notification regarding my status/committee decision. Is anyone else in the same boat? Has anybody who interviewed in November received any news other than an acceptance?

One thing about scholarships: from previous trends and also personal experience with people who have gotten into this school, they don’t offer more than $5,000 to any student usually ( even though 5,000 dollars is still amazing!). I haven’t met any student who has gotten offered a higher scholarship.

My secondary was submitted 11/6, but I haven't been given an II. Does anyone know if they send rejections letters or do they silently reject?

They most definitely will send you a rejection letter if they decide not to send you an II. However, you did submit your secondary on 11/6 and they began reviewing secondary applications back in September so it may be until January or later before they get back to you.

They definitely will get back to you either way but it may still be a bit. My secondary was marked complete September 24th and I’m still waiting to hear back.

Has anyone from the 11/30 or 12/7 interviews heard anything? I was told the admissions committee would meet again on Dec 17 to discuss us, but I have not heard anything yet...

I interviewed the week of 12/7 and received an acceptance call this week! However, and they said that it could take until the first meeting in January to make decisions on this cohort. Apparently there have been a lot of delays in getting applications reviewed completely, so I wouldn't sweat it too much (easier said that done)

If you don’t care to say, when were you complete? I’m curious where they are at on sending out invites.
