2020-2021 Meharry

Ohio. Verified a couple of days ago.

Question to the forum: For the question "Do you consider yourself economically disadvantaged?" does that only refer to currently? Historically? Growing up? I'm an older non-trad so I have a bit of a history. Thanks everyone!
I think you should just say what the truth is in its entirety. If you were disadvantaged growing up but not now, say that. If vice versa, say that.

Honestly it seems a little bit unfair that people who have applied after me have already received their secondaries.....since admissions goes by a rolling basis, that could put me well behind people who didn't complete their applications until much later....not sure how I feel about that. I'm seeing people who were just verified a few days ago receiving secondaries but I was verified a few weeks ago and haven't received any communication at all (I have above average stats)
I agree. I was verified almost two months ago now and still no secondary with above average stats. Likely will not be submitting (if I ever get one) given how unorganized they appear and the lack of communication.

Seriously, very unfair. I emailed but highly doubt I will receive a reply. I looked in last years thread and some people didn’t get there’s until November and December.

Meharry screens for their secondaries. Not everyone will get one and some people may get them later even if they applied earlier in the cycle because it is rolling admissions and they view applicants holistically. Patience is key with Meharry.

Hey friends, I just received their secondary late last night and was wondering what this question is referring to:
"Have you attended another health professional school?"

Are they referring to medical schools? I'm in a master's program right now at a medical school, but idk if that counts.

I'm a first-time applicant with no help, so I have no idea what I'm doing. 😳

secondary received, OOS, verified late june/early july (cant remember for sure)

Looks like a wave! Secondary just received, verified late June, OOS, ORM, sGPA 3.7, cGPA 3.4, MCAT 510

Secondary received, primary sent 9/4

Health professions is like nursing, dental, OT/PT etc. so it depends what your degree program is in.

Did anybody receive the secondary and try to login? I got an “ACCESS DENIED, this is by invitation only” message....

Secondary received! OOS, URM, primary verified last week.

Has anyone completed the video interview? Is it similar to a regular interview?

Question. What are ya'll saying for rank your reasons and interests in medicine? I mean my top two reasons are for sure helping the underserved and medical research, but I feel like all the other choices on the secondary are kinda not good choices / reasons to practice?

Definitely, the other choices all kinda feel like a trap lol. I feel like this is a prompt to just see if students pick anything other than helping underserved/biomedical research as their top two options.

Is it normal for them to ask you for your social security number?

For FAP, do we need to email them a copy of our acceptance to the program?

anyone know what the waiver code means? Does FAP not automatically apply or do we have to email admissions to receive a fee waiver code?

I'm also a FAP recipient, and when I submitted I was not prompted for payment. I emailed Meharry a copy of my FAP acceptance just to be safe, but if it's not asking you for payment info then I think you're fine. The fee waiver code might be for people who did not receive FAP but worked out a fee waiver directly with Meharry, but I'm unsure.

There's hope! I was verified 7/8 and FINALLY got my secondary today. So i'm sure it will come soon, just give it some time.

After creating an account, I can't access my secondary, anyone else have that problem?

Edit: I was logging in with the wrong email SMH.

I also have the message saying "...this does not apply for you, move on to next page..." under the video interview section. Same for everyone else or did someone not have this message??
