I interviewed the week of Sept. 7, and I still haven't heard anything back. Is anyone else in the same boat?
I almost feel like it is better to not hear back at this point (besides an acceptance). For me, I interviewed the week of 9/14 and was placed on hold which according to their email and info online I will not hear anything back until March 2021 at the earliest. That’s when they will tell me if I was rejected or added to the waitlist. So let’s say they plan on waitlisting you next month or so when there class fills up, you will already be in the waitlist for a spot and those of us who were on hold have to wait until March to maybe join the waitlist. Of course I am just speculating here so maybe I am wrong lol. All I know is that with my hold I have a slim chance of getting in.

Slim is still better than none though especially if this year has a ton of movement on the waitlist which is not unheard of for USUHS. I'd try to find some activities that further enhance the way you want to do military medicine then check in with Capt. Liotta with updates.

Has anyone had to complete a second covid exam for medical clearance and willing to pm me? I don't quite understand whether or not it is covered or I'll have to pay for it.

Has anyone heard back post-interview recently? I haven’t seen too many updates... I interviewed 9/23 and am really hoping for some good news this week [emoji1694]

Is this post acceptance? I have done my physical and received an email from DODMERB saying I was cleared but I never had a COVID test...

Can't say for sure, but part of the physical paperwork asked if you'd ever tested positive for covid. Perhaps a covid test was follow-up for anyone who answered yes to that question? Just a guess.

Anyone with application complete in September hear any news about interviews?
Really frustrated, submitted my secondary in July and my application wasn’t marked complete until September.

I have kind of the same deal. It is frustrating but I read something that suggested we were supposed to let them know when all of the LOR's and stuff were done being sent, which I didn't so, my fault. Just have to be frustrated with myself lol.
People have been saying they hear about six weeks after their complete email I think, and I've seen a lot of II receipt posts on Fridays. It will eventually be looked at though! Hang in there.

Just got a R, which is pretty soul-crushing as USUHS is my #1 choice. Interviewed the week of Sept 14th. I couldn't think or can't still think of anything that went wrong during the interviews - had a very good conversation, my goals and lifestyle perfectly fitted school's mission and military environment - so I can only guess that factors outside of the interviews are still factored in significantly for the final decision, and of course, have to be compared with other interviewers for the overall 'score'. Or maybe I got completely delusional and thought I had good interviews lol. Congrats for those who got in, and I appreciate your commitment for our armed forces.

Don't forget to look into HPSP, along with the plethora of other options to get into military medicine! There are a ton of other paths as well! Look into national guard/reserves as well. There's also FAP if you decide to wait until residency!

There's no doubt that sucks. You have your settings so I can't PM you. Shoot me a message by Start Conversation.

Hey prior service folks,
If you are going to use MTF, do you use a different link? Apparently, one of the pdf files says that I need to reach out to the commissioning coordinator for "special instructions," after creating an account using another link (other than dodmets).
I have emailed the coordinator for the instruction, but I just wanted to know what that might be. The email I received only mentions the DODMETS link, which leads to various surveys.
But the other link, dodmerb.tricare.osd.mil, doesn't seem to lead to anything even after I finished registering. Thanks again for your help!

I dunno, I was active duty and still just used the doctor they picked. It was a civilian.

Same here. Submitted my secondary 7/14, primary completed on 8/24, application complete email 9/8. I agree with belugaful30 though, I noticed IIs mostly going out on Fridays and the wait time has been approx 6-8 weeks for applications to be reviewed thus far. So hopefully we will hear something by 11/3.:xf:

Got the call just now (3:45 Pacific Time)!! I have no words... utterly speechless...

Good luck to everyone still waiting, there's light at the end of the tunnel!
Congratulations! If you could pass some of that vibe and some tips for my interview next week, that would be awesome

I'm on cloud nine right now so I'm sure I have some extra vibes I can send your way!

As far as the interview, it was extremely conversational and casual. Each interviewer had specific questions I am assuming they are required to ask, but they only took up maybe a third of the total time. The rest of the questions were very specific to my personal statement and work/activities.

Prior to the interviews I reviewed my primary, my secondary, and the SDN interview feedback page (which I believe were all very helpful).

Good luck!

I was complete September 23rd and haven't heard anything yet. I read somewhere on this thread that you generally hear back in six weeks (or up to 60 days) from your complete date. I'll start worrying a bit if I don't hear back by the week of Thanksgiving, but for now, we just need to keep on keeping on.

It's generally 6 weeks, but the deeper it gets into the cycle, the longer it can take (up to 8 weeks).

Awesome, I think I'll just go that route.
Same. I am active duty, but I just used the providers they had in my area through DoDMET. It seemed easier than trying to go the MTF route. I e-mailed the commissioning coordinator and what not, but I had a headache trying to figure it out and schedule through the links they sent, so I just did the original DoDMET route. I don't know, it's probably a pain in the butt either way.

Good morning everyone! I am sorry if this has already been asked. But is it typical to be able to finish the physicals going into the interview?
The assigned doctor's office is fully booked until end of next week. I know there is another office I could go to--possibly earlier. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it would be worth it to request a change for an earlier physicals or stick to the assigned office to prevent an administrative headache.

I think it is okay to complete the physical after the interviews. I had my physical I week before the interviews but I had my eye exam 2 weeks after them which seemed to be fine, so I think it’s okay. Of course I may be wrong, but they seemed pretty understanding given the scheduling limitations resulting from the pandemic

I don’t think timing of the visits matter- I had same issue eye exam 2 weeks after and still was conditionally accepted on traffic day

I see! Interestingly enough, I was able to schedule the eye exam immediately. For the doctor's office, the administrator even told me that they just got hammered with all the ROTC physicals. I scheduled an appointment anyway, but I figured if I can find an earlier time elsewhere maybe I should get it out of the way sooner rather than later-- especially because I just finished one for HPSP.

I did both my exams the week after my interview and had to do the eye exam first

Mine said the same thing hahah-many ROTC physicals to do.

It just has to be scheduled before the interview. You only need it for your unconditional. You can be conditionally accepted before your medical stuff is complete.
Do you know when unconditionals start to roll out? Will it be right after medical clears? I’m still waiting on records from a last doc visit but it’s inconsequential health wise.

Does anyone have any information on how they view applicants coming out of ROTC programs?

Yeah, it generally comes out fairly soon after you are medically and security cleared. I got my conditional after I was good on both ends, and my unconditional came like 4 days later.

To those of you who’ve interviewed, how long did you wait before hearing anything back? How true do y’all believe the 4-6 week wait is if you’ve interviewed sept/oct like they said?

I think it was five weeks for me. If you interviewed in October, then you'll probably hear back around early to mid- November?

That’s nice to hear. I was towards the end of October so maybe it’ll closer to 6 weeks for me and I’ll hear late-Nov/early-Dec

I interviewed 9/23 and heard back exactly 5 weeks later!

Interviewed last week of September, was placed on the alternate list. Staying positive, but how screwed am I haha? Chose Army as my first choice and this is my top choice school.

Really depends on the year. It will be hard to predict, but typically not many people are taken off the alternate list unfortunately. But I do know some people who have been.

Was hoping more II went out today. Anyone hear of any?

II today! Got the complete email on 9/29, and then last week had my application deactivated since I was missing a pre-req... but apparently reactivation doesn't mean to the complete back of the line. Interview set for the week of 11/16.

Congratulations everyone! And thank you to those who make this forum into a great resource. I check it way too often!

Congrats on the II! Mind sharing stats or LM?

9/29 or 8/29?

I haven't heard anyone from September get an II yet and it seems like they've been going in order of completion.
