I did and ended up getting a rejection email. It was nice to know where I stoodShould I email the school if I haven't heard back about my interview prospects and I have been complete since 7/31?

Sorry, I read that wrong. It was pre secondary. My bad. But they were very nice when I contacted them so it wouldn’t hurt if you have already completed the secondaryYou were rejected post secondary?

I hope so! I feel like I’m getting judged just solely on my MCAT and not on my good gpa and activities. No worries! I just wanted to make sure. I’m sure you’ll get some love at other schools! Keep at it!!!
keep in mind it might be early to reach out because I think they just sent out the first round of interviews last week

It’s frustrating but it’s still early. All it takes is one school to see that we are qualified and will be good physicians!I feel the same on my overall GPA and not my okay MCAT and great last 60.
yes, take one for the teamShould I email the school if I haven't heard back about my interview prospects and I have been complete since 7/31?
does anyone know how likely it is to get an II if they send a secondary?
It used to be very likely, but others have stated otherwise ITT. Which is surprising given the recent increase in class size.
I don’t see why they would change it and still have the secondary free of charge you know?
Yea, I have no clue.
I spoke with someone who interviewed last cycle and was told be an associate dean that only 25% of applicants get a secondary, if given a secondary there is a good chance of interview, and 80-90% of those that interview receive an acceptance.
Thats how it was when I was there.
how do you feel about the quality of education you’re receiving so far?Hey, I'm a current student, though only a first-year, and would be happy to answer questions about the program if people have any.
Quick question, for the secondary essay, did you guys talk about prior experiences in helping diverse/underserved individuals? I have a lot of that from my diversity essay so I was wondering if anyone primarily used their diversity essay (or could) to answer the question!
So far I have been really impressed with all of my classes and the professors. We are currently in a hybrid model with in-person labs and limited lecture attendance, meaning most of our lecture content is online. Professors have gone out of their way to make themselves still available to us, and I find all of them incredibly knowledgable in the topics they are teaching. I was a little nervous starting because of what I heard on SDN and the more general reputation of DO programs, but none of my professors have left me thinking in any way that there weren't more than qualified for the job they had. I even recently had a professor tell me last week that she would be more than happy to stay well into the evening (9-10pm) to help a small group and I run through the lecture clinical scenarios with our cadavers. If it matters, I went to a "prestigious" liberal arts college in the northeast and then worked at one of the top hospitals in the country, so I think I'm a solid judge of education quality. What Carey does have that I really enjoy is a bunch of professors that still practice or did practice for many years. The experience that our clinical faculty has is extremely valuable, and its always nice to have people who can say "technically you should be doing it this way, however, in practice what's important is...." This isn't always the case in academic medicine, or people see patients 1-2 days a week and focus on research during their other time.how do you feel about the quality of education you’re receiving so far?
Anyone heard anything back so far?
Congratulations on your interview! May I ask when you were complete with your secondary? I was complete 8/25 and haven’t heard anything. Really hoping to get an II.Haven’t heard back from my interview on 9/9 but they said within two weeks!!

Anyone know the firm validity that gaining a secondary here means a high chance of getting an interview? I have been hearing mixed feeling about this. Regardless, really hoping to get an interview as I have yet to receive on :/
July 28When we’re you complete?
Have you heard back yet?Does anyone who interviewed here in previous cycles/current students know the timeline of hearing back after an interview? Mine was 9/9 and the power point they emailed beforehand said “the admissions committee will meet within two weeks of your interview”, so that would be tomorrow. Not sure if I should expect to hear back tomorrow or later on?
Have you heard back yet?
Not yet! I will update though, when I do!
Ugh I’m rooting for you!
Dang, I’m sorry to hear. Did he reach out to you first or had you contacted him previously?Dr. Weir reached out to me and said that a review of my application had been done and that I have not been selected for an interview at this time but to be patient and he hopes to give me good news soon. From this email it seems as if I got the old post-secondary II hold. This is very saddening because I was really excited for this school.

I guess the secondary really doesn’t guarantee an II
This sounds like a positive email (despite the negative). I haven’t lost hope though because he said that he hopes to give me good news soon and that I am still under consideration. Never know!
