Congrats! Standard MMI with nothing out of the ordinary. Very short interview day as I believe it only consisted of a short talk and then the MMI which also doesn't take very long. Make sure you download the Webex app and have all the pre-interview stuff done! You got this good luck!!ii just now! IS complete July
Edit: what is the interview format and how did it go for you guys and do you have any advice? Help (see signature below 😭) much appreciated 👍

I was thinking to call tomorrow, did they give you any useful info? Did you have to give them any info about yourself(amcas #)?Hi everyone, this forum has helped me a lot so thought I'd return the favor. I interviewed early January and was directly accepted yesterday. Just the day before, I called the admissions office expressing my interest and asking when I'll hear back, so that's not a bad idea for those still waiting. Best of luck!
Were you on the alt list ever?Hi everyone, this forum has helped me a lot so thought I'd return the favor. I interviewed early January and was directly accepted yesterday. I’m also wondering if this would be a good technique if you’re on the alt list… I’m pretty sure they don’t accept any updates after being put on the alt list but I would LOVE to get a final answer 😅🙃Were you on the alt list ever?

Do it, if you're willing to risk them thinking you can't follow directions and possibly making it worse for yourself. I will personally not be updating themI’m also wondering if this would be a good technique if you’re on the alt list… I’m pretty sure they don’t accept any updates after being put on the alt list but I would LOVE to get a final answer 😅🙃
They did not pickup so I left a message. I gave them my name and interview date.I was thinking to call tomorrow, did they give you any useful info? Did you have to give them any info about yourself(amcas #)?
No, I was not on the alternate list. Were you on the alt list ever?
DId you hear back today? When was your interview? How many people get rejected straight out of the interview? I got placed on the Alt List. Seeing lots of Alt lists and lots of A's but no R's, so just curious
Ya I feel like hardly any doHow many people get rejected straight out of the interview? I got placed on the Alt List. Seeing lots of Alt lists and lots of A's but no R's, so just curious
I didn't! I heard back last week, my interview was 1/31DId you hear back today? When was your interview?
+1 🤣I think I would sell my kidney to get an A to this school
Approximately 45 students come from the BS/MD programs.Varies from year to year but there's this chart that shows how many people they interview/accept in a given year. And I remember at my interview date they mentioned that about 90% of the class comes from the alternate list. Which means if the class size is ~100 then about 90 come from the alternate list. Keep in mind though that they accept a lot more than 90 off the alternate list because there's a good share that will end up not going to the school. Which is why I think the chart is probably a better representation. So if we're going by the information in the chart, it looks like the probability of getting accepted after the interview (whether or not it's the alternate list doesn't matter) is somewhere between 40-50%.

Although I keep finding conflicting information online...the chart mentions they matriculate about 100 students but I see their first year class size is about 145? So I don't know where those extra students are coming from lol. Someone please correct me if any of my information's incorrect!
Its not, total class size is 145 ish including BS/MD program peopleAh that makes much more sense, thanks!
So in that case, I'm not sure if those 45 are included in the accepted tab of the admissions applicant data. If they are, then it seems the acceptance rate Post-II would be somewhere between 35-40%.
I can't sympathize with this at all, I interviewed in September and haven't heard a peep since October lmaoAny recent acceptances? I interviewed on 2/2 and the wait is giving me anxiety 🙁
Omg I’m so sorry! What happened to the 4-6 week decision..? Have you tried reaching out to ask for an update? I’m seeing a lot of people who interviewed in late January and have already heard back.I can't sympathize with this at all, I interviewed in September and haven't heard a peep since October lmao
No haha don't be sorry, they put me on AL in October is what I'm saying and I haven't heard anything else since thenOmg I’m so sorry! What happened to the 4-6 week decision..? Have you tried reaching out to ask for an update? I’m seeing a lot of people who interviewed in late January and have already heard back.
When you go to Interview Information and Response Packet (or something like that), you have to follow the steps to then schedule it. Use Firefox to upload a picture of yourself and then there's a section that says "Confirmation of Interview" (or something like that) and that is where you schedule it! Hope this helps. Sorry I don't remember the names of the sections correctly@ anyone that’s gotten an interview- does anyone remember how to select your interview date? i’m not seeing an option to do that on the portal (OOS II on 3/10)
Just curious, have you already interviewed? Or did they say you're still under consideration for an II? Just wondering if they're still giving out II's.Any low MCAT success stores for this school? I was told by them this week I’m still being considered even though I have a low MCAT
I haven’t interviewed, but they told me I’m still under review and they haven’t made a final decision yet. I’m a sub 500 scorer so I was shocked to hear that knowing some students with (508+) having gotten pre-II rejections alreadyJust curious, have you already interviewed? Or did they say you're still under consideration for an II? Just wondering if they're still giving out II's.
PS I wouldn't call these "low" of course, but 10% of accepted applicants have below a 506, and 25% are below a 508.
Did you call them asking about your application or did they email you that you were still under review?I haven’t interviewed, but they told me I’m still under review and they haven’t made a final decision yet. During my interview, they specifically mentioned 90% of students got accepted last year where from waitlistSo I know this is all speculation, but I really, really want to get into this school and I'm trying to figure out my chances LOL. I was put on the AL a little over two weeks ago and my sleep since then has been an average of 0 hrs/night.
This link: https://students-residents.aamc.org/media/7056/download states that about 35 people are accepted immediately post-II and about 200 are offered a position on the AL. Is this a fair calculation? I thought that AMC typically accepted ~300 or so applicants, so it makes me wonder why the discrepancy between AAMC's website and Albany's.
Thanks for all the help and sorry for the neuroticism.
Yes! During mine too. I am just trying to see if we know about how many students are on the waitlist. Like I said, AAMC's website says there are only 200 of us on the ALDuring my interview, they specifically mentioned 90% of students got accepted last year where from waitlist
2 things: The waitlist and alternate list from my understanding are 2 different things. I think they form a waitlist after a certain date after they've accepted enough people from the alternate list. Secondly, the information from Albany themselves is the most accurate. MSAR and AAMC website's data is outdated for many schools or just inaccurate. So I know this is all speculation, but I really, really want to get into this school and I'm trying to figure out my chances LOL. Perfect! Thank you so much for the clarification!2 things: The waitlist and alternate list from my understanding are 2 different things. They did say that 90% of students are accepted from the AL (not the waitlist). This doesn't mean that 90% of students come off of the alternate list. It's still going to be less than 50%. That 90% of students come off of the alternate list means something else because almost every student here is at some point on the alternate list.During my interview, they specifically mentioned 90% of students got accepted last year where from waitlist
No problem. The most accurate and insightful information you can get is from this link https://alumni.amc.edu/file/bulletin/AMC.AlumniBulletin.Vol86No1.Winter2021.pdfPerfect! Thank you so much for the clarification!
Also there's still a lot of time left in this cycle IMO people haven't even chosen their schools yet. I'm undecided on going here myself. So there will still be a lot of AL movement.Perfect! Thank you so much for the clarification!
Thank you very much for all the info! It's just that I have really low stats and consider myself EXTREMELY lucky to have even been interviewed. And now my stats are just getting to my head and I feel like this is all just a big joke to reject me because of my stats anyway. Also there's still a lot of time left in this cycle IMO people haven't even chosen their schools yet. I don't know if they did MCAT blind interview offer or not. If they already saw your MCAT score, don't get panic. There are something unique for every person that they chose to interview with.Thank you very much for all the info! I've seen people say that there will likely be a lot of movement in MayAny idea if the class is already full? I am on the AL and starting to lose hope. 🙁
