2021-2022 Georgetown

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I've had over 1000 hours of clinical experience and about 500 hours of volunteer work total.

Based on my experience, my take was that they really care and value social justice and efforts by applicants that contributed to that cause.
Thanks for responding.

Was your clinical experience via employment or volunteering? Did you get lots of hands on clinical experience involving delivering care to patients?

Non-medical (I am not a CNA or MA or anything like that) but still interacting with patients (talking with them, providing them non-medical services.)

I've interviewed at 7 of top 20 schools so far and got an A from Georgetown. It is not really prudent to attribute everything to yield protection when we have no clue what is really going on behind the curtains.
We talking in general. Yield protection certainly exists.

T20s seem to really care about research and stats and Georgetown much less so.

Would you be able to share how you appealed to both T20s and Georgetown while pulling in 29 total interviews? I'll be applying for the first time in a couple of cycles and the basis of your successes would be helpful to hear.

Please DM me.

For those who interviewed, did y'all submit a thank you note separate from a letter of interest or did you like combine them together in one lol

Anyone one else get a pre-II R today? Seems I missed last Wednesday wave of Rs (complete around the same time as those Rs too) and kind of neurotic thinking I was being juggled around before finally getting hit.

Non-trad, LM 68 (low GPA, high MCAT), 75 WARS. 5000+ clinical hours working with an underserved population.

Pre-II rejection today. 512 MCAT, 3.5x GPA. Complete in September. Decent ECS, mainly clinical research and volunteering in free clinics. I think Georgetown receives one of the most applicants out of any MD so I knew it was going to be tough. Sad but not totally surprised.

for anyone who has already had an interview, what should I be expecting?

Is anyone still on hold? I assume we will be reconsidered for interviews starting next month?

Got the A! Just received the call, I am shaking and so excited. I was literally speechless the person had to ask if I was still on the line 😭 Interviewed 9/15.
Mind sharing your stats? Grats on the acceptance!!

Congrats!!!! When was ur interview?

Got a WL yesterday morning (interviewed 9/10); this is my top choice, but I submitted an update in mid-Oct, so should I wait a bit before submitted a letter of intent? (I was thinking of sending the LoI end of Nov, early Dec)

Did anyone else get this email titled "Invitation to GUSOM Student Panel"? I interviewed a few weeks ago and am wondering if this is a good sign that they will accept me soon. Or maybe I am completely overthinking this email haha.
