2021-2022 Lincoln Memorial University DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I applied extremely late (secondary submitted few days before the March 15th deadline). Anyone have an idea of how many seats in each campus? And if I haven't heard back about an interview yet, should I contact anyone? I have verified that my application is complete.
Hey I think the Knoxville Campus is confirmed to be full as of right now. Harrogate may or may not have any seats left (currently unconfirmed) but interviews for Harrogate run till the end of April. I think a few late applicants last year had interviews in June last cycle from looking at last year's thread but don't know how late they submitted those applications to be exact (i.e. those applications may have been completed from either December or January onwards).

I currently received an acceptance to LMU-DCOM. I would like to know current or past students experience at either Knoxville or Harrogate. What are some pros and cons about both campuses, in terms of matching and clinical rotations. Are gay students welcomed at either campuses as well? I appreciate any responses!

I apologise for not having the information for your question, but may I ask when you interviewed?

Congrats on the A!

I have a good friend who is currently a OMS-II at the Knoxville campus. He has had nothing but good things to say regarding his experience thus far and was the one who urged me to apply here as my first choice. He chose LMU-DCOM over 2 MD acceptances if that says anything.

Here is the match results for this current year: https://www.lmunet.edu/debusk-colle...esidencyMatch2022PosterTableLetter3242022.pdf

Gen surg, ortho surg, DR, and even a derm match.

As far as the inclusivity, I’m unsure about that but my friend really expresses how kind everyone is and how it’s a real family atmosphere!

I just got off the waitlist and I was wondering if there is an accepted student groupme or somewhere where I can ask questions or if there are any URM student ambassadors I can talk to?
Congrats!! can I ask if they called or how you found out?

“I wish to inform you that you have been placed on the alternate list for the class entering August 2022. Although you have not been selected for admission at this time, a seat maybecome available at a later point in time.”

Please tell me this means WL! I got 2 post-II Re already so I’m praying this means what I think it means!

Yes that means waitlist. When did you interview?

From older threads it seems to move around April, May and June - wonder how big it is this year?

I also interviewed 4/8 and got the waitlist email today. Also wondering how many people are on the waitlist too! Here’s hoping we move off
Best of luck to everyone, I got a confirmation email saying they moved 70 people last year. Let’s hope that the two schools allow enough people to get off the WL.

(I apologize if this has been answered already, relatively new to SDN)
Does LMU take letters of support for waitlisted applicants?
Also, anyone have an idea of how often they meet and move people from the waitlist?

Anyone have any advice for someone on the waitlist? I submitted a letter of intent as soon as I was notified about the waitlist. When should I send another update?

I am also wondering when to send one. I have heard a month after, but also cases of sending it right after being placed on the WL. I just got on it Tuesday.

I'm a current medical student at LMU-DCOM. My answer will be, YMMV. When I was in the application cycle for DCOM as part of their special masters program, our advisor told us that letters of support can help for waitlisted applicants, but only if they're from science courses (think biochem, anatomy, physiology, subjects that you will end up taking in the pre-clinical curriculum). That being said, in my case the letters were from actual DCOM professors so they might carry more weight than letters from outside institutions.

Hey, I am in the same boat as you. I wanna know if interviews are still being sent out. Have you heard anything?

are they still sending out interviews? can anyone confirm that they are still sending out interviews in may or june? thanks!

It's very unlikely that they will be sending out interviews in May or June since their class is probably full (or almost) at this point and they have a bunch of waitlisted applicants as well. More waitlist movement should happen starting May since people have to decide where they wanna go

I called them recently and they said they are done interviewing for this cycle, unfortunately.

Has anyone from 3/18 interview heard back? Going on week 5 of waiting so wanted to know if it would be bad to contact them or not regarding application status. Thanks guys

I didn't interview on 3/18, but I did interview on 3/11 and found out on 3/28 that I was waitlisted. So I feel like you should have heard something by now. Might be worth it to reach out to them.

Can anyone tell me if the anatomy bootcamp is worth it?
My friend who is an OMS-II said he made the same or even better in MGA than his classmates that took the boot camp. I’ve heard it’s good for matriculants whom are 3-4 years out of college and need some extra time to adapt back to a rigorous learning schedule.

Thank you! Good to know, I'm a little out of practice so I think I'll do it.

Has anyone got their campus preference switched to Knoxville recently? I was accepted to the Harrogate campus back in January and was hoping to hear something by now.

Also is there a secondary deposit due sometime in May? I thought there was but now I’m not seeing anything in MyLMU.

I asked to be placed in Knoxville at the beginning of February and I’m still waiting.

Anyone know the best time to send a letter of intent or other letter? I’ve heard around a month, but do you think the timing matters that much? Thanks!
