It seldom works to try this, and can be seen as an attempt to move your application review ahead of others in line just because you will be visiting Chicago.

I have a different opinion: I sent an in the area email to loyola and I KNOW for a fact it caught the attention of an admissions officer that I had met previously. I got a II, 2 weeks later. Theres nothing wrong with sending. SEND IT IN. (I go to loyola )

It could help, it definitely won't hurt. Theres truly no reason not to send in. I love and work with the admissions office- if anything you could catch someones eye! Its NOT going to hurt.

From what I remember he told us that they will send out acceptance calls on 10/15 but moving forward from then, they only call on Thursdays I think. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

To answer your question, many thousands of applicants have been complete for a while now (myself included). But if you have a good application and a compelling reason to attend this school, I say go for it.
 
Those who already interviewed, were we supposed to get a status update on our portal after our app completed the final committee review process? I can't remember if the dean mentioned that or not

I don't think so, from what I remember the Dean just said we'll get a phone call or email depending on our status starting Oct. 15th

Your ports should say “thank you for interviewing” if it doesn’t your interviewer just still needs to input their score.

Haven't heard back yet, I have heart palpitations LOL. Hopefully good news for us!!

Based on last years sdn thread, people started receiving acceptance calls around 10am PST, so in about an hour. (This whole process has made me neurotic lol). Good luck to everyone!

First week of interviews sitting here last name G...I'm gonna go insane if I don't get a call asap
 
are they supposed to update us today regardless of the result? I'm tweaking out
