Hey! Does anyone else who recently received an II only see virtual interviews available in the portal? I was really hoping to attend in person.

They gave me an option for in person and virtual I selected in person right after I got the invite

Hadn't checked my portal in a while and when I looked, it says "Your file is complete and currently undergoing a review by our committee. Thank you for applying to Loyola University Chicago-Stritch School of Medicine." Is this what it always says, or does this mean that they're actually looking at my app now?

Mine has said that since July.

For anyone who interviewed in person, what did you bring with you on interview day?
Honestly you don't really need anything- they provide you with pen and paper, water, snacks, etc. I brought all of this and the only thing I needed was my phone to keep track of time between one of my interviews. And of course your vaccination card + mask!

For the record- not sure where y'all heard the "they call on thursday" thing but thats definitely not the norm.

Committee meets Monday: people are given a list of who to call.

I received my call Tuesday afternoon.

I will warn everyone: It is about to get funky. With thanksgiving and Christmas coming up the committee doesn't meet as often.

I interviewed October 23rd or something of my cycle and did not get the call until the first meeting in January.

Any current students on here that I could ask a couple questions? Thank you!

Interviewed 11/4 and we were warned about the potential for delay due to the holidays. I'm not getting my hopes up for another 7 weeks....

For those that interviewed, is it recommended to send an update letter?

Hey, sorry if this has been asked already but for those of you who submitted an update, is there a confirmation on the portal showing that they received it?

If you go to the home page on your application portal it should show an entry under “your application” which shows when your update document was uploaded. I never received any confirmation other than that, but I remember during my interview they said as long as it is uploaded to your portal it would be considered whenever your application is evaluated.

Hi everyone! I just got into Loyola SSOM and LOVE THE SCHOOL!!! I just wanted to know if anyone knew anything about the Jewish population in the school/area? My Judaism is very important to me and I want to make sure there is a community I could be a part of at the medical school 🙂

congrats! mind sharing interview date + notification date?

Does anyone know if they take people from Continued Consideration historically? And what to do to get taken off that list and subsequently accepted? I hear it's not a bad sign to be placed on that list. Also does Loyola Reject people after interview?

@Talldoctor96

Anyone know when Adcom met this month? They finally updated my portal to reflect that I interviewed (in September lol) but I am wondering if I was even reviewed this month.

If you we’re discussed you would have gotten a decision 🙂 just means they’ll talk next meeting!

@Talldoctor96
Depends on how year is going!! If acceptances are lower than usually they’ll go to the list in December a little, otherwise they start relooking in the spring and then CC becomes WL.

Rejections post II are rare but do happen.
