Pre-II R as well, I interviewed here last February and they told me in my rejection email that I was in the top 15% of those who interviewed last cycle :/

Am I understanding correctly? You interviewed last year but in the rejection email they stated you were top 15%. This year as a reapplicant, you did not get offered an interview.

Why would they reject you if you were in the top 15%? Was their post II acceptance rate less than 14%?

Same here!! I literally walk through the admissions office every day to get to classes and/or my lab, it's the most frustrating thing

I dont think they have a preference. IF you are inclined to provide a letter then you should send it.

Considering that I know someone who sent thank yous to both interviewers and they personally replied with appreciation, I'd suggest you do so. What do you have to lose other than a small amount of time?

I don't know but I hope soon. I interviewed 10/22 so today marks 8 weeks, which is the maximum amount of time they said it would take to get back to us.

Not that this helps but i did hear back friday and was WL (interviewed 11/15) so there could be more than one day for decisions
