I interviewed the week of 12/6. If these guys are just hearing back, I’d expect a much longer wait. I Even if the class is already full, when the choose your medical school tool opens up, there will be movement. Just keep your head up!
USU fills their class early because the strict budget prevents them from "playing" with the class size. They can only accept as many students as the budget allows (generally around 165-175 students) so unless you apply super early, you'll likely end up on the wait list.

Generally 6-8 weeks. Mine took about 8 because my PCP went MIA.

The last scheduled in-person visits is on 2/24 (as mentioned in an earlier reply). I do believe all accepted students (or at least those who commit) are offered a second look but I'm not entirely sure.
Me! I’m visiting this week and worried that they are just waiting until after my visit to reject me 😂. But if other people haven’t heard back maybe there’s no need to be so cynical.
I interviewed week of 11/1. I and others who had interviewed a week after me had only just gotten word last week. That put me around week 15.

Anywhere in the range from casual to business casual. I wouldn't worry about dress code much, it was a very chill and friendly encounter with some of the students.
I did, but for something very minor that I didn't expect to need a waiver for. It took a couple of weeks to get back, it's not the paperwork problem that delayed my decision
Yes, I did. It came 4 weeks after submitting the waiver request.
My initial response from DoDMERB took 2 weeks, but the follow on response after submitting their requested AMI took 11 weeks. This was through the holidays so that may have been extenuating circumstances.

It seems that some individuals hear back sooner than others. For example, some 15 weeks and others 12. Is the reason for this simply because of the difference in admissions counselors?

I am in the exact same boat. I tried emailing the contact who had sent over some DoDsafe forms but I haven't heard anything. I wish there was a portal like for Dodmerb where I could check my status and see if I am missing any paperwork.
Common response on this thread re: security clearance has been no news is good news. If you haven't heard anything then it most likely went through without any problems.

In terms of demand, it's historically been Navy>AF>Army but it could vary from cycle to cycle (meaning Navy normally fills up first).
Can we change preference prior to our decision or is that looked down upon? Feel like I shot myself in the foot lol
Yeah, you can email your admissions counselor but I don't know if changing your branch preference will help/hurt you in any way.
I've read in previous admission cycles of people getting offered spots from the wait list "outside" their top pick. This would indicate that the preference is mainly a tool for initial round assignment. If coming from the WL we are likely ranked and offered slots as they come available regardless of the preference.
How long after receiving your waiver did you hear back regarding an admissions decision? Were you waitlisted prior to receiving your waiver?
