Hard R

complete early July
3.99/521

second in two days.
Did your R include “Thank you for your application to the Keck School of Medicine of USC. We recognize and appreciate the extraordinary degree of thought and effort that went into the completion of your application. I am grateful that you chose to share your story with us.” Because same 🙃

Yo, who rolls out Rs throughout the day? They didn't like my nickname, but now that I have the R I will share it because I am proud of the effort:

My self proclaimed nickname would be The Pun-isher, because I really like puns. This may seem Cheesy, and my classmates might get Feta-p with the puns, but it’ll Brie OK. You don’t need to be an Egghead to understand a good Yolk

If you don't want this kind of applicant, then I don't want you either.

OOS, 3.9X/52X, Complete like early July IDK man, Pices?

Yes lol

A bit masochistic, but I would rather be given something straight (ex. “Your application wasn’t up to our standards m, you don’t meet our qualifications etc.)

Complete 7/10 and no R...hoping this is a good sign? Unless they're still churning them out and just haven't got to me yet 🤔

You win. Hands down LMAO

What do you mean? I was in the first round of rejections for two schools but also had II for 4 so far
I figure most schools have 3 broad tiers

Auto II

Toss up

Rejection

Lowest applicants may be given the rejection right away whereas borderline candidates may be given an R or II later.

No proof this is true but it’s possible

Lowest applicants
Lowest in regards to fit, but as the massacre has demonstrated to us today, it is not necessarily the least competitive applicants to receive the first Rs.

To reassure anyone who is really feeling this, getting today's R does not mean you are an inadequate applicant. The fact that you have found this community, with its known and every present bias towards success, may be tainting your perspective. But you should absolutely NOT be discouraged. Stay strong, and focus on the schools you have left and control over.

II received around 2pm PST today

IS, ORM, LM 76.6.

Not sure how they stratify apps, but It was pretty much the 1st school I submitted a secondary to (mid-July) and now the 1st school I’ve heard back from ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

First pre-II R

3.6 cGPA, 3.4 sGPA, 511 MCAT (retake). (503 first time around). Reapplicant but first-time applicant to this school. Good luck everyone!

Received an R 🙁
I received it one month later compared to the last time I applied, I guess that's something! 😀 So sad still.
Good luck everyone!

i've been complete since 7/12 with no update what do i make of this ugh
I would be caaaaautiously optimistic if you haven't caught the R so far considering USC is on one today

Just got my first II of the cycle!! URM completed 9/14. I'm really surprised since I'm on the low end of their stats (3.55, 508), but my application is very much centered around health advocacy and underserved community experience.
Wow congrats! What date range are they currently scheduling interviews for?

Just got my First R. 3.8 GPA/508 MCAT. Non trad with a master’s degree. Grew up in Los Angeles and my sister went to USC for grad school. 🥴😆 Good luck to those of you still hanging on for that Interview invite!
