For those who are on hold right now, are you expecting decisions tomorrow (10/15) or next week because the portal says "around 10/16"

On Monday. VCU only gives out As on four dates (one of which is Oct 16), and they said since it’s on a weekend, they’ll give them out the following business day

Last I checked (a week and a half ago or so) my app status was still "subcommittee" but today I checked and my portal says

"Your File Review is now complete. If you are granted an interview, you will receive a status update on your applicant portal with directions for scheduling. Please do not call the Admissions Office requesting special dates.

The Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine (VCU SOM) is now incorporating the American Professional Health Sciences (CSP10101) CASPer test as a part of its holistic review process. All applicants wishing to be considered at VCU SOM are required to complete this assessment in addition to the AMCAS application. For the 2022 cycle, Casper results will be utilized as part of the decision to extend interview invitations. Test dates can be found at Welcome to TakeAltus - TakeAltus. To sign up for CASPer, go to www.takecasper.com"

If it was an R would they not have notified me of the R immediately? Or maybe they didn't want to ruin my Friday, in which case I am grateful for their consideration..? lol

I feel so lame posting this here because everyone else is discussing their interviews and potential A's haha but I would really appreciate any insight! Thanks!

Does anyone know what this means? If it was an R would they not have notified me of the R immediately? Or maybe they didn't want to ruin my Friday, in which case I am grateful for their consideration..? lol

Pretty sure it just means your file review is complete and at some point in the cycle, you may be offered an interview

Submitted my secondary on 7/13 and just within the last few days, I finally was moved to subcommittee...

So I think we addressed the topic earlier, but had a hard time gleaming from past threads. Is no hold after interview several weeks out the equivalent of anticipa te d or soft R?

I'm not sure if there was a consensus. Other than you need one before getting the A, it didn't seem like anyone really knows how the holds are distributed or lack thereof means.

I read it in a past school specific thread but not sure how true it actually is. But I think they’ve been interviewing for like 6 weeks. If they do 30 applicants per week that’s 180 up for consideration on Monday.

I know that they usually take 75 or so from waitlist
It’s pretty accurate. Oh my interview day they told us they normally accept 40-50 on every release date (of which there are 4). On Monday however, they’re planning to release 60-70. So this Monday is statistically your best chance of getting in.

MSAR says Waitlist is only 100 ppl and they take 75 I think

Okay good luck everyone quick run through of how today is going to go. The official acceptance will come on the portal at 6:05 pm eastern: thats when the portal updates. However, sometime today they will input all of the accepted peoples names. There are 4 decision dates where there are roughly 150-200 people considered per date and 50 acceptances given. Ultimately about 200 people are put on the waitlist 2-250 with about 75-100 being pulled off of it. If you do not get the acceptance today, you are deferred to the next date. Your highest chance of getting the A comes on your FIRST decision date. It IS possible to get in on subsequent dates, but historically your BEST chance is that first date you are considered.

Once they put the names in of who is accepted- people will start to see tabs. This is essentially anything out of the ordinary on the portal. Often its a transcripts tab or just some weird box in the portal itself. you WILL know if its tabs.

ALL tabs come at the same time- when someone says they have tabs if you dont have them you aren't getting an acceptance today.

I think thats everything.

Thank you for the information! When do tabs come out?

what is this tabs everyone is referring to?
if you check last year forum for this school, you see people realized before their acceptance there was an extra tabs in their portal. Anyways, don't panic if you don't see it cause we really do not know if this is changed this cycle or not. Also, some may see that tab sooner than the others.

they are essentially a "tab" on the portal itself like I described. It might be a tab that says something like "transcripts" its essentially anything out of the ordinary on your portal- it will be obvious.

we dont know! It depends when they put it in. You have to remember, they probably are meeting about the last few batch of applicants this morning. Once everyone has their final scores they will send out As to the top 50 scorers.

Just to build off this. On Thursday, my interview day they said they’ll finish going over every applicant this morning for those who interviewed last week and send 60-70 acceptances today. This is a change from last year, I don’t know if they interviewed more people or if they’re feeling extra generous 😂.

Question , I see many with hold note etc. I interviewed early in the cycle and received nothing. Should I expect an A or R today or a Hold?
