This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
For those who already attend uiwsom, were you able to get a good amount of scholarship money from the school? And how much? Im reviewing their scholarships offered. thank you.

I am at the medical school expo right now, and I asked the presenter about being over 12 weeks complete, and this was her response:
"Thanks for your question ! I'm sorry to report that you may have fallen into a recruitment turnover with a group of students who's applications were received when our previous recruiters have transitioned to other roles. We are currently looking into this issue now, so don't worry! We will get back to you this week."

LMAO that explains why my application is still in review

I am not sure if it is a bunch of students, but she said they are working on it and will let the director of admissions know. she did add that there was no need to contact DOdoc

Man, I must be one of them too because I've been completed for so long now and haven't heard anything back yet. I really want to go to this school too .-.

any idea approximately how many days it takes to get the decision? Would appreciate if anyone who already heard back knows

I read some people actually got the phone call? Is this true for some? Or are they just emailing us with the decisions?

Just putting my 2 cents in.

I had my interview with this school, and I am grateful for the acceptance. Currently debating whether to attend this school or other schools I've been lucky enough to be accepted at.

I didn't really see any red flags with this school during my interview or during the tour. Interview is MMI based and there are quite a few candidates at the interview so maybe that's why some people have a poor impression?

I am curious as to why imnotsurewhoareyou has a poor impression of the school/interview. Maybe I am missing something.

Tbh, the vibe of this school during my interview a couple months back was not very friendly and I didn’t feel like it fitted my personality as well. Good luck everyone!
I interviewed in September and felt the same way. Plus, I couldn't imagine myself studying on their campus without any windows in so many of the rooms. Withdrew my A, but good luck to others this cycle!

I'm sorry to hear that....How were your stats? I'm wondering if they reassess your scores after the interview..
I remember talking to a few students as well as to the Dean and the consensus was that they do unfortunately go back and look holistically at scores and experiences again. So from what I gathered, they combine the interview scores with the metrics and experiences to make a final decision for admission. Best of luck everyone!

R today but I honestly felt relieved that I didn't get accepted. The school felt off to me and I didn't feel like my personality would fit in. The curriculum was also a turn-off for me so I think it's better I didn't get accepted. Good luck to everyone else though!

I'm sorry guys but my neuroticism has peaked at an all-time high, so I've done some research in previous threads and number crunching for post-interview acceptance rates for UIWSOM. With 160ish students matriculating each year, my guess is the number of admitted students is probably similar year after year say around 400-500ish including those pulled off the waitlist, so we’ll go with 450, out of the 700-900 interviewed.

Class of 2026
4654 application, 790 interviewed, estimated 450 admitted (57% post-II acceptance rate)

Class of 2025

~5300 applications (⬆️26%), 955 interviewed (⬆️18%), estimated 450 admitted (47% post-II acceptance rate)

Class of 2024

~4200 application, 806 interviewed, estimated 450 admitted. (56% post-II acceptance rate)

Class of 2023

3980 application, 680 interviewed, 452 admitted. (66% post-II acceptance rate)

For my fellow 12/2 candidates waiting on a decision, 2 more weeks!! Now let me go step outside for some fresh air 😂 Best of luck everyone! 🙏

Thank you for this!

how long did it take you guys to hear back about an interview after submitting?
This school has in the past continued interviews through April, so it could be many months of waiting. Did you just recently submit yours?

I submitted my secondary on 12/1.. so about 2 weeks ago
UIWSOM really takes their time in picking who they want to submit a secondary as well as who they invite to interviews. This is the general timeline for their application process!

So generally they take 8-12 weeks, however it sounds like they are undergoing some staffing changes so processing times could be longer. They interview into April, so there's still some time! Best of luck!!

I got the II!! I was complete on 8/22. The soonest interview available was on January 20. Should I ask if they have any cancellations?

I asked... now I wait for someone to cancel their interview.

(IDK if that is how it works)
