i've had radio silence since being complete early august... don't know if this made me feel better or worse
From what I've seen, VCU was one of a few schools who came hard and heavy with the early post-secondary Rs. I have to imagine that surviving that initial onslaught is at least somewhat of a good sign, but it obviously sucks being stuck out here in no man's land...

Remember that schools including VCU don’t necessarily review apps in chronological order. Having no outright R is certainly better than getting the R, albeit marginally. If it makes you feel any better, last year I submitted early July, silence, II early December, IA early January, WL April, A in mid June. This week’s wave of IIs was to be expected and couple more waves are likely to occur in January and into February by previous accounts.

Can anyone speak to how difficult the MMI questions are? Are they pretty standard? TY!

Hmm i didn't get anything, did y'all have interviews already? I'm still just complete and not-so-patiently waiting for an II

I’m a bit confused - do they accept update letters in between decision dates? I’m waiting for the next release date and originally thought they didn’t want them, but that email says to keep them updated on continued interest in them.

At least this is what their website says:

DO NOT submit additional materials or updates. The college accepts additional information only when an applicant is placed in the alternate pool after interview or by Committee request. We believe that the AMCAS application you initially submitted is representative of your academic abilities and activities.

Unsolicited materials will be discarded.”

To those who have done the MMI, are the questions more random ethical scenarios or more personalized to your experiences? Mainly I'm trying to figure out if I should prepare some stock "tell me a time when..." stories.

Most of it was random ethical scenarios but there were one or two where you had to think back on scenarios from your life. Pretty general stuff that won’t be too hard to think up on the spot though

Can anyone who has interviewed give me some feedback about the traditional question?

Just prep "why medicine(journey to medicine)", "why M.D. and not some other healthcare worker", and "tell me about your clinical experiences and how they shaped your path to medicine". You'll do great!
