I know this thread has been quiet for a bit until Dec 16th! This is my top school choice - do you think there's a good chance of a Dec 16th acceptance if I was passed on Oct 16th? I'm worried that others have since ranked above me and I'll again be overlooked - ugh, who knows I guess.

No one knows, my understanding was that as more dates passed your chances went down for whatever reason.

We’re in the same boat! Doesn’t seem like a lot of IIs have gone out since Oct 16th so here’s hoping Dec 16th is our day!

I received the “hold for potential admission at a later date” email today. This school only offers As on certain days (with the next being December 16th) so isn't everyone technically on hold until then?

They don’t even formulate a waitlist until March, so I would say we are definitely still in the running.

that's exactly correct. if you get passed this time around, you'll be considered again in February and then again in March. If none of them turn out, then you get added on to WL.

Based on last years thread, they sent out more II's on Dec 1st and then some pre-II R's the following week

They apparently reject some people before hold, but I call bull. Hold doesn't mean anything.

Do any MSTP applicants here know if the research updates tab on the portal is for pre-II or post-II updates? I would like to send an update letter but am not sure how the program feels about them, given that the medical school does not want any pre-II letters.

You're usually put on hold the following Monday or Tuesday. Was that different for you?

There was an interview group the week of October 9, and the hold coincidentally came the following Monday which was October 16 which was one of VCU release dates -- no correlation.
