I went to a campus visit in Harrogate and the first year that gave the tour was wearing a white coat with his name.

i just did some investigating on their website, and in february of this year they had the white coat ceremony for class of 2027

AFAIK, they used to do the White Coat Ceremony during the start of first year, but moved it back from the class of 2020 onwards. Now, you order a blank short white coat from their bookstore. Some students like to pay extra to get their name embroidered, but it's not standard.

Think about it another way - at least you get a clean white coat to start clinicals with.

it sucks bc it’s something really exciting that you’re looking forward to, but it does make more sense to get the white coat at the end of the pre-clinical years. i know a lot of pa schools that follow this system as well

They originally moved the white coat ceremony back due to COVID restrictions since at the time they wouldn’t be able to hold it in person if they kept it at the beginning. Then at that point they found that it was actually better since classmates actually knew each other at that point and it felt more like a mini graduation celebration before everyone left for rotations. So it’s not so much of the school making you “earn it” as it is just a scheduling change due to COVID that was found to be more enjoyed by the students so they kept it. You can buy really nice short coats that are embroidered with your name and school name online. I bought mine for less than $50.

Just wanted to come back on here and say multiple people were able to switch from Harrogate to Knoxville but it didn't happen till May! The accepted student group chats are pinned at the top of the lmu class of 2029 facebook group!

interviewing here soon any tips? i heard it's pretty chill compared to other interviews
very chill and conversational! you can read thru this thread from prior dates, since a lot of us commented what questions we were asked. as for me, i got asked the typical tell us about yourself + why you want to be a physician, and what qualities i think are important for being a medical student versus a physician. good luck!

When spots open up, do they just randomly select applicants or do they reevaluate every WL applicants every time. Did they answer that question during any of the other interviews? I don’t think they did during mine.

i was accepted off the waitlist today to the harrogate campus. does anyone know what i need to do to get on the knoxville waitlist? no beef towards harrogate, i just live in knoxville and it would lowkey be more convenient

reach out to the admissions committee asap and let them know so you can be put on the list. I wouldn't say it is impossible but I haven't seen many people say they were switched

THIS!! Does anyone know? If it's not ranked then how do they go about it. Got WL 4/9 and keep thinking about my interview:/ To echo what others have said it was super conversational but my interviewer just didn't seem that interested. He asked a few prepared questions then asked if I had any for him so the rest of the time was spent with me interviewing him (solid 6-8 minutes😭)

When u guys sent a LOI did they email back giving u hope? 😭 mine did and I'm still sitting here on the waitlist😭😭
