We have reviewed your application. Due to the high volume of submissions, we are putting your application on hold for a final interview decision. Your application is still under consideration, and no further information is needed from you at this time. We will notify you once a final decision is made.what does the hold language look like?
Who knows other than you're still in the running! Carry on solider!wonder what it means if you didnt get anything today. perhaps another wave of R / hold will come next week?
anywho, best of luck to you all who got news today... mayo couldn't handle your awesome-ness!
ur my admit score twin
nope loldid you mean submitted 7/26?
OOS hold. Sad
No info means hopesame. waiting for the mayo mallet to strike me eventually too
do u rem when u submitted?Current M1 here and I didn't receive an II invite until mid-November. For those waiting in limbo or on a pre-II hold: interview szn has just begun, so definitely hold out hope!
Just rechecked my dates and I actually submitted my secondary on 8/27/23. Definitely later than I initially thought lol, but there seemed to be a general trend last year where the first IIs went out to the high-stat applicants, then eventually to mid and low-stats. I had an LM score of 70. I unfortunately can not speak to pre-II holds personally or from peer anecdotes, but if I had to guess, it's not necessarily a bad thing since they didn't formally give you the R?do u rem when u submitted?
According to cycle track, 70 R; a few hold here. Probably quite a lot hold don’t report here.Wonder how many applicants are put on hold, relative to R's.
I was in their session on Monday and they said you should email them ASAPanyone know anything about changing top choice campus post-interview?
okay thank you! im also worried it might hurt my chances tho so im so conflictedI was in their session on Monday and they said you should email them ASAP
Did they comment on if it'd be okay to switch pre-interview? I'm not scheduled until November but wanted to maybe swap my #1 choiceI was in their session on Monday and they said you should email them ASAP
They did not comment, but it wouldn’t hurt to reach out!Did they comment on if it'd be okay to switch pre-interview? I'm not scheduled until November but wanted to maybe swap my #1 choice
To add to this, in my session earlier this week they made a point that they view letters of intent and letters of interest pretty much equal in the first round of acceptances, but not equally if you’re on the waitlist.Dear everyone here, I had my interviews this week and just wanted to relay this tidbit of information in case your interviewers don’t: if you interview and love Mayo, please please please send them a letter of intent / interest. It’s extremely important to them.
Did they say anything about update letters? To add to this, in my session earlier this week they made a point that they view letters of intent and letters of interest pretty much equal in the first round of acceptances, but not equally if you’re on the waitlist.
Just had my actual interviews and one of my interviewers said to send in an update letter with your LOI!Did they say anything about update letters?
holy cow, congrats!+1 OOS, complete 8/30!
Did they say when to do so? I know some schools want it like within the week of your interview.Just had my actual interviews and one of my interviewers said to send in an update letter with your LOI!
They will reach out and specifically request to know your interest level around December, but you can submit before that if you want!Did they say when to do so? I know some schools want it like within the week of your interview.
So maybe we should send one (update + intent) right after the interview and then wait for them to reach back out in December? They will reach out and specifically request to know your interest level around December, but you can submit before that if you want!
Well, that depends on when your interview is! Mine was earlier this month and I personally believe September is too early for a LOI.So maybe we should send one (update + intent) right after the interview and then wait for them to reach back out in December?
they have access to your 3 most meaningful, PS and mayo secondary i believeSo the interviews are partially blinded. Do we know which part is blinded?
just email and explain your situation! theyll probs just let u attend next weekAm I cooked if I missed the Monday welcome session? There was no power at my house...
Complete 7/26 and no responseAnyone else still heard nothing so far? complete 7/27 and not sure what to make of it
I say go for it as long as you are comfortable with the price. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take 🤷Is too late to finish the secondary for Mayo? Figured I had no chance so I didn't finish it originally.
I have a friend who completed their secondary in late september a few years ago and was admittedIs too late to finish the secondary for Mayo? Figured I had no chance so I didn't finish it originally.
They want it in the portal so that it can be taken into consideration! For people who interviewed, did you send thank you letters to interviewers directly via email or upload them to the portal? Both my interviewers gave me their emails but I also see a spot for thank you notes in the portal so I'm not sure which is appropriate. Did they specify anywhere?
They want it in the portal so that it can be taken into consideration!
Schools will usually specify at the end of the interview or in the post-interview email! Georgetown requested by portal, Michigan wanted email, Emory refused thank you notes entirely. Is this just a Mayo thing or do other schools want thank you notes in-portal that we should watch out for? I've been sending thank you's but just via email. TIA
