i feel like this is all just proving futuredocgirls original point, no? how can a person claim that the student culture is welcoming while also 1) accusing other prospective students of basically lying about their experience during their zoom interview and 2) saying it seems like they have a “world is against me” mindset?
saying someone should rethink what THEY experienced is some serious gaslighting lol. two people had two very different experiences and I think its important for current and future applicants to know both
A person who is a longtime lurker felt the need to speak up about this persons consistent negativity. I think it is safe to say it is higher than normal.

I actually really liked the changes to the curriculum and it showed that the school values student feedback and is willing to make changes as needed. Extending the preclinical to around 16 months seems like it will help students solidify information and take step 1 before starting clinical rotations. I think most of the incoming students liked it, but it’s also person dependent.

Historically, it seems like we can expect movement beginning April 30
On their website it now says: "DGSOM will consider applications from U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and DACA recipients. Applicants who do not satisfy one of these requirements will not be considered." (here: Medical School Application | UCLA Medical School).

Someone said before (either here or last year) that the WL is split into 3 tiers, with most getting A's from "top" and some from the other tiers. So I would guess about 1/3 of the WL is "top"
I think it’s just two tiers. Top and then everyone else
Year after year, they blow past the top of the waitlist and people who did not get that designation of their waitlist email still get acceptance offers. It'll just take a little longer to hear back from non top of the waitlist people cause top of the waitlist people get offers first. These folks may hold their offers for a couple days because they're waiting to hear back from other schools before making their decision, and it just sorta snowballs from there. For reference, latest offer I heard of someone getting was in July. Most will be early to late May.
The expected response time should be stated in the offer email, or ask admissions directly if it is not
5 business days from my experience. Not sure if that has changed.

No. All they have been saying is the committee hasn’t met yet. I think we won’t hear from them until end of April or beginning of May.
They won't extend scholarships until after the CYSM commitment deadline? That's immensely frustrating.
