+1 OOS II submitted 07/10.

I do have one question... In terms of which campus you're sent to IF you end up being accepted, is it completely random?

The campus assignment is made after Match Day. You do have the chance to state your preference, many will get it.

Ah, thank you! As an aside, I just read your comments on a previous year's thread--I should have looked there first!

Congrats everyone! If you don’t mind sharing, what was your LM?

IS students dont have a choice since they are likely ranking Baylor number 1 but OOS students can decline offer if they dont like the campus assigned.

Oh, that's a good point. I've never thought of that downside with the Texas match system. If you have Baylor #1 and even if your #2 school would have accepted you, you'll never even know and you'll never get the option to choose them over Baylor (Temple).

You are allowed to carry more than one admission in Texas as an OOS until late April.

Yeah, that's why I mentioned the Texas Match. The OOS applicants don't go through that program, right? So although generally it's beneficial for IS applicants, it seems like in this very specific scenario it seems to give OOS students more options. Unless I misunderstand how it all works.

Are you OOS?
Even though OOS applicants don’t use our Match and ranking system, our timeline of actions applies to everyone.
By this I mean all interviews will be concluded by the end of January and you will find out about whether you got accepted earlier than at AMCAS and often on Match Day if you haven’t heard before.
Texans come out of Match Day with one school (or zero schools 😢) and like @texasvandy said, an OOS applicant with more than one offer can continue to hold those and decide until late April if they want to.

Are you OOS?
No, I'm IS.

So my understanding of this is that if I have Baylor at #1 and Baylor gives me an offer then on Match Day I will be matched with Baylor and all other schools will be dropped off the list. I will never know if McGovern or UTSW or anyone else would have matched with me. And if Baylor doesn't specify your campus until later on in the process you might not get your preferred one.
So if my 'true' rank is something like
1. Baylor (Houston)
2. McGovern
3. UTSW
4. Baylor (Temple)
and I feel strongly enough about not going to Temple then I should consider ranking McGovern or UTSW above Baylor.

Whereas for OOS applicants, they can get their Baylor offer and continue to pick up other Texas school offers and make their final decision knowing which campus they'll be assigned to.

Is that correct?

Yes you have a good understanding of it

Is there a post anywhere here/elsewhere that you think has a good explanation of the Texas Match? I'm IS but I don't know if I fully understand the process

Go directly to the source on the TMDSAS guide, link provided here. From this page, click "TMDSAS Match" on the right side menu.
There is a video to watch too that gives examples, but read the text first.

Next Steps After Submitting Your Application

If you’re accepted and match into the Temple campus, is it possible to get put into the Houston campus as people drop?

If I have another interviewed scheduled at the same day Baylor scheduled my interview, how should I tell them I need to reschedule?
“Unfortunately I have a conflict that day, I I need to reschedule” when did you submit btw?

From what I have heard the in-person open houses are "optional" but it is highly recommended that you do them. Do we need to visit both campuses or just one?

I don’t think you will have the chance for a visit until after you have interviewed

I should have clarified - I already have interviewed and am debating whether I should sign up for the temple one in addition to the Houston one.
Do whatever you want! Dr. Vallejos sent an email before match day clarifying that attendance of optional events (socials, open houses) had ZERO bearing on your admissions decision.

Go to the open houses if you want to get a better idea of what the campus looks like along with the surrounding area. You can also get perspectives from current students on what the day to day is like and what they're involved in. It's a great opportunity to get some in-person interaction as well, the deans are all very warm and do their best to see all of the people in attendance.

Plus, free lunch. 🙂

IS II received 8/12, Secondary submitted 6/24, LM 76.80
For the social the night before, how do we RSVP for that? I see the link for if you dont RSVP in time but not the normal RSVP

That brings me to teams and asks if I want to join now
For me there is a form that allows me to RSVP embedded in the website underneath the links to join the social. Do you see it if you scroll down?

I'm in a sticky situation. I just realized that Baylor doesn't accept dual-credit courses (dumb ik); however, they have yet to send me an email like they did to @axpathetic. Should I update my planned coursework to add these 9 hours or leave it be on the off chance I'm okay? I completed my secondary 6/27.

If you’re deficient in coursework, they’ll usually let you know… but it would be worth reaching out to admissions to make sure so you can be proactive. 🙂

Not all the TMDSAS schools have the same prerequisites or rules about prerequisites.
You may have learned it the hard way this time about Baylor.
Baylor actually has fewer prerequisite courses overall, but they do not accept AP credits or dual enrollment credits for courses taken in high school.

Does someone know if Baylor will consider you for interview before Casper score?
