That is the part that frustrates me--I was very explicit in that I REALLY wanted to be at the school and loved the 1:3 system and want to work with the underserved. I have the experience volunteering at a CHC to back that up. It seemed that a lot of people didn't even know about the 1:3 system/CHCs walking into the interview. And then the people saying they're withdrawing their acceptances and spots on the alternate list just stings.
Don't worry, I'm aware that I'm coming off as bitter--I know this is just how med school admissions work and I'll get over it evenutally.
Don't worry about being a little bit bitter. It's ok to feel that way right after getting rejected from a school you really wanted to go to. This process will make people bitter. It's extremely personally challenging to be picked apart in the way that we are and to have to justify everything about ourselves and our mistakes. You will definitely get over it and be successful somewhere else.
