I'm in the midst of a dilemma here, and would love some input (current med students input would also be well taken). I like both BU and CWRU, but for different reasons. Tuition is comparable.

BU
Pros:
- largest level I trauma center in NE -- I'm interested in emergency so this is a very appealing factor (I'm not set on EM, but it's an option I want to consider)
- Boston is a great city and more diverse than Cleveland

Cons:
- higher cost of living

CWRU
Pros:
- more research opportunities
- good curriculum
- better match list

Cons:
- longer academic years
- area isn't as interesting

Sounds like BU would be a better fit for your current interests... I don't think research is so imperative to matching into EM either so there's that. I also think the cost of living in Boston is affordable if you're willing to live a bus ride away from the campus (~1000/month)

Case has the better research reputation, so if you want to be a physician-scientist or be in academic medicine, Case would be the better choice. If you strongly want to live in Boston over Cleveland (especially if you want to practice in Boston), then I would pick BU. Don't write Cleveland off as boring though, I think it's definitely sufficient for "city life" if that's all you're looking for.

Based on your pros/cons list I have to agree with the above that BU seems a better fit.
