Ah, that sucks..

Rejected post secondary...

OOS, 3.5/3.3/28 URM.

I really liked what I heard about this school.

What do your EC's look like?

What do your EC's look like?

Over 400 hours of clinical/shadowing experience, non medical professional degree (non traditional applicant), volunteering experience, a year of research, etc. My ECs are just ok.

Withdrew my application today. Maybe one of you could take my 8/26 ii(even though it is short notice...)

Seems like a great school but was accepted at a school that is a better fit.

Good Luck Everyone!

A few questions for those who have already interviewed:

1. Are the interviews back to back to back? No time between? Are they all 30 min?

2. Were the interviews similar in that you heard some of the same questions? Any questions that you really weren't expecting?

3. Weird question but I have no idea. Are they at a desk in an office, or just a chair in the middle of room?

They are all 30 and back to back. They were held in small group study rooms across a blank table....pretty normal interview questions

My thoughts:

1. They are back to back but they go very fast. Sometimes they are only 20min if they get all the answers they need. Campbell is using a computer program for your interviewers to fill out questions regarding you and rank you against the others they saw that day. They take some time at the end of your interview to fill these out, after you leave the room.

2. Asked Why DO and What do you know about osteopathic medicine. It is open file and all had notes written about my application. Got asked an obscure item from my secondary.

3. You are in a small study room with a table. It has a glass front. You can see other applicants being interviewed in other rooms. Try not to let your eyes stray into those rooms. They offer you a chair so you don't have to guess about where to sit.

Just let me know if you have anymore questions. Be sure to smile at everyone, be positive and be yourself!

I'm interested in knowing if all 3 interviewers asked the same questions. That seems odd that we would have to answer why medicine or something like that 3 times

Yes, all three of mine asked why campbell and why DO...

They only ask why Campbell and why DO?

lol of course not

it is simply a conversation about things that jump out at them from your file. But obviously you will be asked why campbell and why DO, likely by more than one interviewer (as all three of mine brought up those questions - among others)

Seems like a pretty low-stress interview then? I'm just nervous since I have little interview experience in general.

Has anyone posted to the interview feedback section?

It's just a conversation. Just be likable and know the stuff in your app.

+1

Before every interview it's very important to look back at what you wrote for your essays. You don't want to be asked why you said xyz but not remember anything about it.

Also try to prepare a lot of questions. I had a good list but an awful lot of them were answered during the informative presentation held before the interviews. My second interviewer wasn't too happy I didn't have much to ask her. But there wasn't much I could do.

I had myself all psyched to know this week and it's killing me to know I have another week. I was really hoping to get to cancelling some other interviews and I have a few secondaries I was waiting to pay for... I am kind of freaking out right now haha

haha me too!!! I really wish we could find out this week. CUSOM is my number 1 choice and the wait is just so hard! 🙂

Got an email this morning that I have been put on a pre-interview hold 🙁
Good luck to the rest of you with ii's!!

This is great information we are relocating to the area and I am nervous since I have 2 classes left to take I wish everyone the best!

if you could all mention your complete email dates, that would be wonderful

Remember that the dates don't matter as much as the season progresses. The adcoms have a lot more on their plates so those who applied earlier will have a different range between submit-complete-ii than you may have.

ii for 9/17. I guess I will see all you people there that day. No flight for me just a long airplane ride. Coming from Phoenix. This is my second choice school following ATSU, so I hope the interview goes well as it will be my first. How are the interviews for everyone else? I feel like I may have submitted late as friends on here have already gone to several and I have only later interviews....

I just reserved a double room at the Microtel (2.5 miles from Campbell) for tomorrow, 8/25, night because the single rooms were all taken. If anyone wants to split the room with me, send me a PM. I'm a 25 year old male. Good luck to everyone.

Does anyone know how nice they are if you want to switch your interview dates?

Got into NC tonight. Excited and nervous for this week!

I'm sorry this isn't interview related as most of the other recent posts, but can someone please tell me if there really is a 7 or above MCAT cut off for each section? I don't see anything about it on the website and I have not received my secondary from here yet. I was really looking forward to applying to this school because of the resources and location.

I got a 7 in PS and am interviewing tomorrow.

Also exceedingly nervous waiting for my flight, have to work on that. Everyone saying how welcoming the school was set my nerves at ease for the interview at least, thanks everyone who gave feedback after their interview, I'll be sure to do the same. Good luck to everyone else this week!

I feel the same... My nerves have been calmed for the time being but I'm sure it will be a different story when I'm stepping on my flight tomorrow... Good luck!!

Thanks, you too!

Safe travels to everyone headed to their interviews!
You will know their decision on Sept 3rd is what I was told. If accepted you get a phone call, rejected is an email.

Good luck! Take deep breaths and just be yourself!

Solid ground feels good! I can confirm that the microtel is very nice, both the staff and the room. I rented a car from the RDU enterprise and only had to pay $10/day extra for the young renter fee. The drive to lillington is nice and scenic, the town is more developed than I imagined, everything you need within easy reach. Looking forward to tomorrow!

They don't have a wait list?

Sep 3? I thought we would know end of aug....did admissions tell you that?

They don't have a wait list?

No wait list this early in the game. She said it was in or not. She said by interviewing early you have a great shot at an acceptance. They only do a wait list once they are close to a full class.

SB they said Aug 29th the committee meets. They will try to call those who are in Aug 30th. But it's Labor Day Monday so we may not hear until Sept 3rd.

My birthday! Could make it or break it for me this year!

I emailed admissions earlier this month and they said there was a 7 cutoff for the subsections.

I believe Joy told my interview group (on 8/20) that all interviews that week and this coming week would come before the committee this Thursday. They will make their decisions on the batches from the first 2 weeks of interviews and begin alerting applicants the following Tuesday (September 3)

I'm really happy about the no waitlist thing

Does anyone know the latest month they will grant an interview?
