After the wildly profitable success of their Western-themed park, the Delos Corporation - known worldwide mostly for the impressively life-like robot "hosts" who staff their parks - branched out to fulfill many other fantasies.

Want to battle in an ancient Roman colosseum? You can do that.
Reenact civil war battles with copatriots "dying" next to you, while completely safe yourself? Can do.
How about a couple weeks in medieval times, rescuing fair maidens and searching for dragons? Yup.

If you've got the cash (and a lot of it...), they've got the plot!

And while the company made their start in reenacting fairly R-rated eras and ideas, they quickly found that some people wanted something a bit more restrained. If you're a bit less blood thirsty and a bit more nostalgic, take a turn at Campworld. Here all the facilities are run by cheerful and willing hosts who can assist you in any way you wish. There are no irritating bugs, the climate is controlled for your comfort, and there is an extraordinary plethora of activities for you to safely indulge in.

From macrame to horseback riding (and Delos host horses have very smooth rides!), you're sure to have a grand time at Campworld. Bring the whole family!

But for tonight, enjoy the introductory bonfire, and get settled in. Sleep in a bit - the mess hall will be open when you wake, and we serve some world-class french toast. The schedule of events will be ready for you at that time, too.

It is now Night 0. We will begin on a (very) long night cycle; night will close at 6AM EST on 11/18.​

Of course, in the meantime... you are at camp, and at camp everyone needs a buddy! So during this long night, take time to talk amongst yourself and decide on pairs of PM "buddies". This is the only person with whom you will be able to PM at any time during this game, and must be submitted to your role PM by the end of this night cycle.

You cannot "share" buddies, so selections will have to be reciprocal - A chooses B, B chooses A. We will end up with ten pairs, and then unfortunately one person on their lonesome. :c

  1. Don't trust village code.
  2. You may PM with your buddy (see above) at any time once you are paired up. You may only PM in your mod-established cabin group during night time. No other PMing is permitted unless opened by a moderator.
  3. Be reasonable with your editing, please. Especially no messing with lynch votes once they've been posted.
  4. If there is a really overwhelming majority and almost everyone seems to have voted/defended, lynch may close early... but generally night/lynch deadlines will be 6AM/9PM EST. No plurality rules.
  5. Please participate. There are no requisite post limits, but I promise it will be worth it for you to try and gamesolve - plus, it makes it much more fun for everyone!

Also, FYI for anyone wondering about the theme - Westworld's site is here and Delos Corporation's is here. Both are mock sites set up for HBO's Westworld TV show, set on that futuristic theme park. The series seems to be based off of a Micheal Crichton book of the same name.

There's a partial TvTropes page set up for the show. Someone's already made a wiki as well.

I'm going to work on tracking down the show and the book. This is all from Google searching, so I don't really know the plot of either the show or the book. Anyone know more?
 
Sorry. Westworld by Michael Crichton is a film, not a book. Told you it was a quick Google search :eggface:
 
While I absolutely recommend everyone go out and watch the show because it is fantastic, feel free to read into the fact that I didn't link Westworld resources when I usually try and make sure people have the knowledge they need for my games. 🙂

I will take the theme as a sign I need to watch Westworld, especially since I've been wanting to. However, with exams coming up this is a really bad time to start a new show 🙁

To get game stuff started: Anyone have any guesses on how vanillager-saturated this game is?
 
With what, 21 people? I'm thinking 4 wolves, maybe 5 since trilt said no converts. A possible neutral and no chaos. I'd think like 7-9 vanillas. I don't know what all roles would be included in this game being this early in

It is so very good you should watch it now. Only ~7 hours worth of procrastination total, it's worth it.
