I've made my plan that I'm transferring to University at Buffalo, which is known for it's sciences and has it's own medical school. My question is, if I pursue my education at Suny buffalo state college, and get around a 3.5 GPA will that hurt my chances for medical school admission or would I need around a 3.9? Average applicant has around a 3.5 or 3.6 but I'm just wondering if I get that in a local suny such as buffalo state college will that put me in a disadvantage?

I'm not really sure what you're asking. Are you asking if a 3.5 gpa at UB is harmful for your admission to medical school at UB? Or are you asking if a 3.5 at UB is harmful for your application to medical school as a whole?

Just an FYI, SUNY Buffalo and Buffalo State College are not the same school nor are they equivalent by any means. Buffalo State College is slightly above community college and should be avoided in my opinion.
