anyone interviewing on the 18th?
Yes you can., but it cost more money to send out a second round (around like 50 more bucks plus the original cost).also,
If I only applied to the bradenton campus, can I go back and apply to the main campus as well through aacomas?
1) I have not sent in a DO LOR yet, do I need to do that before the interview?
DO LOR is not required before your interview. You must submit a DO LOR after your acceptance but before matriculation.
Ugggg.
Hey guys. Just got my first letter today and it was from LECOM-B and it told me they didn't want me for an interview.

Honestly...I am just surprised they didnt even wanna interview me. I keep reading about people with significantly lower stats getting invited for interviews here, and I am confused about why they aren't interested.
More then that though, Im just really crushed that it was my first response and it was a rejection. God this process is brutal. Good luck to everyone...have fun in Florida🙁
Sorry to hear that, I'm really surprised you didn't get an interview, especially since it's still really early in the cycle and your stats look good. Every physician I've spoken to told me that the application process is basically a crapshoot-you'll be surprised where you do get interviews and where you don't. Don't worry about it, the interviews will come. Good luck with your app cycle!
100% TRUE!!!
I'm not going to say which school; but I am a long time friend/worker with the Dean, others in the adcom, and multiple other faculty/staff at one program and they told me that as long as I don't turn in my application late, I don't have to worry about getting into the program. Needless-to-say, I have received an interview and acceptance at every program I was been complete at for the past 2 months ... except for that one program ... and not even an interview invite. 😕
(Good thing I didn't completely bank on that one program)
Definitely a crapshoot.
To add on. I recently went to an Admissions 101 seminar that was hosted by the director of admissions and dean of admissions at my university. They answered a lot of questions about the admission process. But their main point throughout the seminar was that most medical schools have transitioned to the "hollistic approach" when it comes to identifying eligible students. I think you have good instincts when you mentioned about reviewing your application when it comes to extracurriculars and personal statement. Your stats are good but like you said there might be something that turned those people off in your application so try to identify it. Not only will you find out but you will boost your confidence when you interview when you know that your application is as good as it gets.
I don't think it's a crapshoot. These schools have been doing this for a long time and they refine their process each year to make sure they get the best students for their program.
Just a quick note. The Admissions committee at my university said that a 17 year old was the youngest student admitted to the MD program. Whoa, I can't even imagine starting that young.
Yes...that OMM. I'm terrified. I think I'm going into 'jersey shore' mode. GTL = gym, tan, laundry.

Holy Doogie Howser, batman... You think that's crazy, check this out:

That kid should be graduating soon, at 19 or 20, with an MD/PhD.
The 17 year old was admitted into a combined degree program, right? (i.e. 3+4 or 4+4 ?)
Anyways selfhealer, I'd call them up on Monday and ask them for details on their decision. If they don't tell you anything, then I recommend doing your own research like Fenix said above.
Heres hoping for mormonism and multiple wivesI read somewhere that adcom gets together every tuesday, So if I have an interview on Monday, they will decide my faith on tuesday, and I'll know on Wednesday????????

But seriously, Yes they usually meet on tuesdays so you could theoretically call on wed to find out. I personally waited for my letter which came on a sat.
haha, yeah I wouldn't call them anyways, I'd wait it out till saturday.
Hey all,
Good luck to everyone in the thread, first of all.
Second of all, I will be interviewing at LECOM-b on the 20th and would like to get in touch with people who have been interviewed to get a sense for how it went, what kind of questions you were asked, etc. Feel free to shoot me a PM and I'll send you my email so we can be in touch. Thanks so much.
P.S. or feel free to post it here 🙂
Yes, they would absolutely give you that information. They know it's in your best interest so that you can improve your application if need be.Really? You think that if I call them to ask for details regarding why they rejected me, that they would actually provide me with this information? I assumed that once they rejected you, that was it. If they would give me details regarding their decision I would love to hear them considering I really don't know how they decided against me (not that I was a shoe-in, but as I've said, my stats are certainly above their average stats for those accepted).
Holy ****, stuff like this scares the hell out of me.Ugggg.

Yeah, seriously, call them and ask.wow that's very surprising. I would think with those stats, you would be competitive at almost every DO school you apply to. I would email to find out why they were quick to reject you
Emailed Annette this morning and heard back: Accepted! I'll be attending.

Called Annette, I'm in! Will be putting down my deposit and about 97% sure this is where I'll be come next July.

how long do you have to send in the deposite for LecomB?
does anyone know if having applied to all three campuses would affect acceptance at one campus? i mean, i have an interview at LECOM-B coming up, but haven't received one yet for LECOM-E...i'm just wondering if LECOM-B would not offer an acceptance until after i interview at the one of the other two campuses? or maybe that's not something i'd worry about since I don't have an interview invite at LECOM-E as of now and i'm not sure if I'll even receive one at all from there (lol)?
Thanks!
I applied to both and got accepted to both. I interviewed in Erie in early September and early Oct for Bradenton, they placed my decision on "hold" (though if it was a rejection I doubt they would have held it) until I could see the Bradenton Campus. When I got back from my Bradenton interview I had my snail mail acceptance from Erie.
Interview invite!! first one!! im really excited to just get an interview. for reference i sent in my secondary 9/22 and just received my invite today for 1/5/11. i know its kinda far away but i didnt get my apps in til late so I'm just thankful to have an interview!! (3.3 science, 26Q MCAT)
To the males who have interviewed at LECOM-b already:
What did you wear? Is is just standard suit and tie no matter where you go?
