Haven't heard or gotten anything. After writing that big check, I was hoping to get something in the mail, but nothing.
I guess its still REALLY early in the game though.
🙂
I didn't get accepted as early as you guys did (late Nov/early Dec) and had my deposit in before winter break. They sent the matriculation packet in early February (when I got it, anyway) and told us to have them done by the end of April. If you got in close to the April deadline, I think they asked people to have it done ASAP, and only really freaked out if you didn't have it done by the time school started. (They check to make sure you didn't miss anything at pre-orientation. Not sure what they'd do if you missed something; probably just ask you to get it done ASAP.)
If you want to look into things yourself, try the Student Gov Association website at www.lecombsga.com. There's some good info on there, as well as reviews of some of the 3rd and 4th year rotations we have available so you can get some sense of that whole mess. If you have specific questions, feel free to PM me or ask on here, though next week I'll be in test-lockdown mode and I may not write anything substantial until after that.
Btw, you know how you have to sit through a PBL session during your interview? I've said in the past that what you do in there won't affect your chances for admission. For extreme cases, I take that back. Try your best not to fall asleep (especially several times) during the PBL session. And please don't spend the entire time texting on your phone (as another candidate did). If you do, the facilitator will probably mention this to the admission committee, and while I don't know how much this would affect your chances, it can't help. I know people travel, get nervous, and can't sleep the night before interviews, and I know listening to us yammer on about renal phys and path for 2 hours isn't the definition of a good time... but with even this school's admissions process as competitive as it is, that kind of behavior gives the adcom a perfect reason to hand you a big, fat rejection.
