Well said! I can appreciate what you are saying fully. Again... to those who haven't heard, waitlisted, or rejected. If this is what you want to do, keep at it. If you work hard and are involved in whatever it is that you enjoy, people will look at you. Stay focused and positive. Congrats to everyone who were accepted.

For those who have been accepted, about how long before you're sent more information via email? I was accepted Monday but haven't heard anything yet; I've been checking my LU account given to me when I completed the secondary application, as well as my main email address as well.

I think a few weeks after the call I got the snail mail letter and then the email. Everything you need though is really on the LUCOM website under the admissions checklist tab can get to deposits and everything from here really.

Thank you! I will be a little more patient then 🙂 I just want to get the deposit in so I don't loose my seat or anything like that

And for a side note: A big congratulations to everyone who is accepted here! I'm looking forward to being part of LUCOM class of 2018 with everyone.

PS Everyone posting their stats and experiences: man, yall are making me wonder why I was accepted! Perhaps for comedic relief? 🙂 During my interviews my interviewers just looked at me when I finished chatting away and said "man, you're passionate;" at that point I remember thinking in my head, "Too strong, tone it down, tone down the crazy!" After that I was asked what my leadership style would be--and you know what I said?? Aggressive! I actually said that my leadership style was aggressive. And they still let me in! Haha...they must have a sense of humor! Anyways, I'll be that girl in class that people will look at, shake their heads, and think, "Too much red bull, too much coffee...calm it down." Just kidding, I'll try to get it together by August 🙂 Looking forward to meeting yall in about 5 months!

HAHA! That's funny. Well they picked you for a reason, so welcome to the crew. I'll be your polar opposite, so we will balance out. I'm fairly reserved and laid back.
Does anyone know what they have interests in? Or is everyone waiting to see what they like during rotations? I know most people go in thinking they like one thing and then end up changing their minds.

Hey everyone!

I called the admissions office and they said they didn't get to the February interviews on Friday (mine was on the fourth). They will get to applicants like us on the 21st and make those calls on the 24th.

I hope this eases the minds of many individuals! Best of luck everyone!

I don't know if this helps but I was interviewed on February 4th (02/04/2014) and I received the call from Dr. Martin at 5:42 on Monday that I was accepted.

Wishing you the best!

Well balance is a good thing! And I think it will be a really diverse group of folks in our class 🙂

I really like EM; but then again, I love kids---so maybe Peds? Honestly think I'm leaning towards EM.

Thank you! I really hope I get in! I became a dithering idiot during my interview while talking about the book I am working on with Dr. Ianuzzo and have mixed feelings about both interviews. I have decent stats and I have been working in the medical field for 4 years now as a medical assistant with the goal of osteopathic school. Essentially, I have been praying in the hallway for a long time for God to open the door and I hope it opens to LUCOM!

Keep praying 🙂 That's the only thing that kept me sane...haha. And I was 2 weeks away from being shipped to a Carib school when I got the call! Good thing I was holding out on purchasing plane tickets 🙂 my point is, God has perfect timing...even when we don't think so! Chin up! I will be sure to keep you in my prayers as well 🙂 let us know when you get the call!

I completely understand how you feel. I cant stop thinking about the missed opportunities I had - to show them the real me but blabbered about things that were not directly to the point. I was asked a simple question and thought about it in such a complicated way that I ended up giving an extremely stupid answer which I would normally never even think of. I cant stop thinking about it, as LUCOM is my number one choice after 2 interviews and 2 visits to universities. Although I had a many good answers and discussion during both the interviews. I wish LUCOM was not my first interview since its my first choice and I would have gotten more experience if it was not my first interview. But I am sure every aspect of your application such as your stats, statements, and interview will count in the final decision. Well Keep praying and continue working hard. Don't worry god has a plan for everyone and I hope for both of us that plan incorporates LUCOM.

Hi Guys, I got my itinerary today I have Dr. Smoley and Dr. Kribs. Any one want to comment on them or PM me 🙂

So if it is true they have interviewed 300 already and based on how many posts I have read of people being accepted and choosing to go to LUCOM, it would seem the first class of ~150 is mostly filled. So other than interviewing practice, why would I spend all that money to go interview?

There are only 60 ish Facebook members for the new class...I would assume they have around 100 seats filled but I could be wrong. There are still spots and there is still a wait list. Go if you are interested in attending otherwise don't waste the money. That's why I turned down an interview at lmu. They still have spots to fill...don't be discouraged about those numbers quite yet.

Every school accepts way more than they should. For a class of 150, I expect them to accept roughly 230.

Because a great deal of applicants hold spots at multiple campuses and finalize the decision from April-July leaving approximately the appropriate number left by guestimating

Why do Schools do that though? Would they have space for those 230 even though they only have 150 seats?

If there is more movement than anticipated then the wait list people get a chance

Write them a letter explaining your situation. The huge problem is trying not to sound petty or that you are trying to kiss up to them. Just be honest and tell them that you were too nervous but it does not mean that it is a reflection of your potential. I hope this helps!!!!

Do you mean like a letter of intent?

Do you mean like a letter of intent?

Something of that sort. I'm a high school teacher and I have students that plea for their grades: some bargain, some just plain out tell me they do not care for it. Once in a while, however, I get a student that genuinely cares about his/her grade and effort in the class. May be it was the way the student h howe the student made no excuse for his/her prior behavior. Anyway, it is all in the way the student asks for help. In those instances, I completely go out of my way to help them out. However, if the student behaves like a pest about it, it is hard to even consider given that student a second chance. I don't know if this helps but this is my experience with people asking for help. You never know the answer until you ask for it. Just remember to do it in a professional way that way you don't burn any bridges. My 0.02 cents.

I would recommend going on the interview. It's always better to have options. If you are strapped for cash, than choose your ii's wisely. I think if you have an interest in LUCOM, it is worth going to the interview, personally speaking.

I agree, you never know what may come of it and options are good. I guess this is something we (all the currently non-accepted) must go through. LUCOM has 77 acceptances on facebook with who knows how many more students who just don't use FB or post things. Going through other pages, it would seem LUCOM is keeping up with other schools, as 85 acceptances (on FB) seems to be the average at this point.

I was just trying to convey to the other member was that if during some point you weren't able to respond to the best of your abilities - its okay, its a learning curve. Since I am sure every aspect (gpa, mcat, volunteering, personal goals) will count towards the final decision. Someone who had a great interview with MCAT of 23 and someone who had an okay interview with 25 - are in the same boat.

On average, how long does the school take to decide/call out acceptance offers?

It says on their site within 2 weeks. Some people have said it's been more than 2 weeks, some less. I was notified 13 days after my interview.

How did the interview go for 2/17 people?

Hey guys,

Does anyone know how long does it take for the adcoms to send the letter of acceptance? I interviewed on 02/04, accepted 02/10. I still feel like Dr. Martin was playing a cruel joke on me. Honestly, I do not remember anything he said after I heard him say I was accepted. Thanks for any reply!

It took several weeks for mine. I know how you feel, I wanted to call back to make sure I heard him correctly lol. It drove me crazy but about 3 weeks and a billion years later I finally got my letter.

How did the interview go for the 2/17- 2/18 groups? I'd love to hear your feed back.

those of you who interviewed on 2/6, did anyone of you hear back yet?

Has anyone heard anything today?! I have been waiting all day to hear something and I interviewed February 4th. I just keep praying and hoping for the best because that is all I can do right now.
