Should those who interviewed last friday expect an admissions decision by the end of this week?

My understanding was that those who interviewed on the 28th and 29th would be hearing back this week.

Thursday or Friday is when I'm assuming admissions decisions will be out on those interview dates.

Files from before New Years will be reviewed first then interviewees from 1/4 and 1/5.

Hope this helps.

Hi guys, I have a quick question. So due to family/ financial situations it doesn't look like I'll be able to go to Marian but I had already payed the deposit. It's really unfortunate because I really liked the school! Have you heard about anyone ever getting a refund on their deposit?

I know its "non-refundable" so it wouldnt be a likely thing to get a refund on.

But, the bigger question is what financial situation would keep you from med school? I hope all is well with you, but be sure to talk with anyone you trust and make sure that pulling out of school is the right choice.

(PS you can PM me if you dont have anyone else to discuss this with. I feel like this is a big red flag decision)

Yes, one has to accept the fact that it's "non-refundable" when paid.

As stated though, there are bigger questions/issues at play... This level of education is a golden opportunity. You have had to put in a huge amount of effort just to get this far. Obviously the circumstances have to be dire in order to consider backing out. But do consider options and talk with someone first as HalfListic said.

As mentioned make sure you absolutely must withdraw from Marian. We all know how difficult it is to get into medical schools and you don't want to regret a decision this big. You can PM me, as well, if you'd like someone to chat with about your circumstances. Good luck.

As others have said it is doubtful that you could get that deposit back. I'm sorry you are going through issues that could cause you to not attend med school in the fall. Good luck in your future endevors.

Does anyone know about how many seats are left/ how many people MU-COM is still planning on interviewing? I am from Indiana so I really want to go here and I'm trying to gauge how realistic my hopes are. Thanks!

Does anyone know how many wait list Quartiles there are? and about how many applicants are designated to each one?

What is the option of deferring at Marian? I hope all's well and you can PM me too!

I'm sorry for the rejection, when did you interview and did you receive a call or email today?

I am sorry. Don't get down though...just kill it next year!

I found out I was wait listed today. Trying to stay positive but really got my hopes up after the tour and informational session. This school is going to be amazing I think.

I'm sorry, hopefully the waitlist moves quickly, when did you interview?

Good luck on the waitlist. did you find out by being called today?

I received an email regarding the wait list. Thanks for the support!

my sGPA is too low and I got an email. guess i will be reapplying here next year 🙁

Sorry to hear that. At least you know what you need to strengthen. I hesitate to guess, but probably a large number of accepted students have graduate school and post bac work to their credit. Also, many students have applied through two or more application cycles. You're a med student... you just haven't been accepted yet! 👍

No "ACCEPTED" post today..weird

Agreed - very weird! I feel like the last 2 weeks have been quiet - multiple waitlists but no acceptances. I wonder if # of acceptances are starting to slow down at this point in the cycle 😕

There are 4 quartiles. 1st is the most competitive, but all are admissible. We do not release statistics on the alternate list.

It is our policy to not release statistics on our incoming class until it matriculates--this includes the number of seats remaining.

Our AACOMAS application deadline is March 1.
Our supplemental application deadline is April 1.
Finally, seats will be available through the end of our interviews, which conclude in April.

It doesn't look like 1/4-1/5 interviews were notified today, I'm hoping we hear back by tomorrow.. This wait is stressing me out already!!

Has anyone else who interviewed on Dec 28th not heard back yet? I'm hoping that the fact that I haven't received an email is good news :xf:

Ok thats helpful information to know. Thanks!

Interviewed 1/5. Received a call and email: Waitlisted 1st quartile.

Sorry to hear about the waitlist 🙁 But at least there's a lot of hope with the first quartile! I was waitlisted on the first quartile and got accepted about 3 weeks later. Maybe you should send a LOI in since they said they will be reviewing the waitlist next thursday! Good luck 🙂

sorry about the waitlist. did you hear back this morning?

About how many people are there on the interview day with you? 🙂

About how many people are there on the interview day with you? 🙂

There's usually around 8 in your group and there are 3 groups at around the same time. The different groups will rotate between the MMI/campus tour/info session. Good luck if you have an upcoming interview!! 👍

it was 7 people per group for us so I guess it depends on the day. good luck👍

Hey guys! Quick Question: Can you bring like a small notebook to jot down notes before walk into the interview room for each MMI station, or is that not allowed?🙂

I am not sure if you would have enough time. Also we are not allowed to share the MMI scenarios with anyone.
