All initial interview decisions have been released for this week covering files with a complete date between 8/23 and 9/4 inclusive.
Holds on Tuesday.

On hold today pre-interview 🙁. Will be reviewed again within a month. Still looking forward to hearing good news from MU-COM though 🙂
 
how long does it usually take for ur file to be complete? I received an email today saying my letters have been received but they will be screened for competencies?

As soon as they have received all of the letters, aacomas app, second app they will send you a completion email the next day, I believe. But dont quote me because this is what happened to me, not sure about other people.

The email acknowledging receipt of your letter(s) mentions that processing can take as much as 2-3 weeks. Finally, it depends if we have received all of your letters and if they meet our requirements.

If anyone has an questions about MUCOM, feel free to PM me. I am a 2nd year student. Thus far, Marian has been a wonderful experience. For the most part, the staff takes the time to really get to know you. The courses have a good mix of science and clinical information. The campus is really nice- they just opened a Starbucks, the gym is great and the president of the university is so nice (he's often riding around on his bicycle and will stop for a chat). Good luck to everyone interviewing!
 
Hello MUCOM!
I have a quick question. I submitted my LORs recently and think I may have labeled the delivery with my AAMC ID for the MCAT instead of my AACOMAS ID. Is it best to just email [email protected] and make the correction? Thank you!

You can just make the correction in the submission. If corrected, your letters should be in our next weekly download.

I got the acceptance call on thursday. I was pretty happy about it but I was also boarding a plane so I had to awkwardly tell Bryan Moody that I had to go rather abruptly :/

Sorry. It happens from time to time with certain email programs because the email contains a graphic header. Contact admissions for a plain version. The portal also contains a version. Finally, a paper letter of admission will be mailed next week.

I'm trying to submit my Secondary app. But had one question.

For a section where it asks about pre-med health advisor, do I need to put the name and address of Pre-med health advisor even if I didn't see the advisor for advising?

Interviewing here on October 10th! This is definitely my first choice for medical school. 3.56cGPA/27MCAT. In-state resident, 3 years of research, one publication, studied abroad with IUSM in Kenya, multiple leadership experiences on campus. What are my chances?

Don't worry about that. I was at work in the ED last cycle and had to do the same.

Your stats are definitely in the competitive range and you have nice EC so like Shinobiz said, nail that interview!

At holistic review schools, if you receive an interview, that means they already think you're able to handle the curriculum and boards. The interview, especially MMI, is used to determine if you have the personality/skills to be a competent physician.

Thanks. I've got some other interviews to prepare for, so not letting it get to me too much. MU was definitely my number one, but must not have been the right fit. I knew it was a long shot with my cGPA (3.14)
 
@MU COM though I didn't make the cut, I can tell you it is so much better to know each step the amount of time I should expect before being further informed. Many other schools give virtually no information or updates on status. Your process has kept my anxiety at bay. All the best, and will be glad to watch MU-COM continue to grow into a fantastic institution.

Hopefully I won't be applying again, but would be nice to know what MU felt my weaknesses were. I'm planning on calling in the next day or so.
 
I submitted my secondary app on 9/22 and letters on 9/18th. The status says that LORs were not received yet. Thus, file is incomplete. Is there specific date that MU-COM downloads the LORs? how long would it take to say the file is completed? I'm not sure if I should send the LOR again through interfolio or not. Thank you!

Please consult the attached guidelines which are posted on our website and sent to applicants who are invited to complete a supplemental application. If you have specific questions, contact us.

Generally, initial interview decisions are released every Friday. Decisions for pre-interview holds are released every other week on Tuesdays.

This week, though, some initial decisions will be released today. Others will be released on Friday.

Dang, I would but I'm interviewing on Oct 3. Would have been nice to split some costs. Good luck on your interview.
