I interview on November 7th (this is my first choice!) and am flying in from Utah but my flight doesn't get in until 12:30am Saturday morning! I just planned on sleeping in my rental car, but does anyone know if there is a place to shower on campus before the interview?
(I checked a truck stop and Golds Gym but they're about a half hour away from campus according to google maps)

I'll see you on the 7th. You might want to ask around to see if a current student wouldn't be willing to put you up for the night. Consider asking in the class of '19 board and here. Seems like it couldn't hurt and you'll surely be more prepared for your interview if you sleep in a real bed!

Thanks Endorphins98 and Jobikenobi! I'll look for the class of '19 forum and check there. Thanks!

Congrats! How long after you were marked complete did it take to receive a II? Thanks

I was complete on 8/20, but then put on pre-interview hold! Thankfully, my file was reviewed and I got the II on 10/8.

I have an II for Nov. 6, but I'm not sure if I will attend. The past reviews seem to have been pretty negative. Is there anyone who absolutely loved the school during their interview? Anyone, perhaps an MS1, who chose this school over others they interviewed at? I want to be sure it's worth it before I fork out the cash to head to Indy.
I would recommend that you look at all of your options if the you have means. You want to find a school and a city that fits your personality and accommodate your goals. I was accepted to other schools but chose MUCOM because I loved my interview and the interaction I had with the faculties and students. The location is also very nice because it is close to many accommodations like an airport.... lol I'm OOS. Come and check out the MUCOM, if you see students and I'm sure you will, talk to them outside the interview to get a better idea without the formalities.

For current students,

I was wondering if any of you live in the new graduate housing at Marian, do you like it? or if not, where do you live?

Thanks!
Many of us OMS1 live in the new graduate housing. It's a very nice place to live and very convenient for school. It does get a little noisy depending where your apartment is facing. There's a lot of activities here on Marian with a lot of sporting events on the weekends. A few of my classmates live off-campus at a complex called White Rivers (I think). I've been to a 1 bedroom apartment and it's really nice as well. It's near a river so you hear a lot of bugs but it's peaceful once you get use to it. I would suggest you apply for the housing if it's available. I know a few OMS2 students who are currently living here and will probably be moving out so space will be limited!

Can current students comment on dress code here? I can't seem to find anything on it. Also, do they provide you with a laptop?
Dress as you like, there are no official dress codes here. People tend to dress nice in the beginning but it's coming down to sweats now lol. There's also no dress code for anatomy either, just wear scrubs and a white lab coat cause it will be dirty by the time you're done. The second years will be selling their dissection kits, scrubs, lab coat, and unused scalpels for cheap when you start school. I suggest you get them but supplies are limited.

got the interview! Do you guys know how much they emphasized osteopathic medicine during the interview day? I feel like I would have a hard time answering the why DO and not MD Q(s).
I think I was asked that during my interview but my application was so geared towards being a DO that it wasn't a difficult question to answer that I will undoubtedly become a DO. The worst thing you can do is make DO schools feel like they're a back-up plan for students. If you're having trouble with this question, I would recommend you look at your application and the steps you've taken to get to where you are. What speaks to you? Does it scream MD? DO? It's important to know the direction you want to go because I know all schools will if they are interviewing you.

I have been complete since late August. Is it normal that I have not yet heard back on an interview decision?

I am seriously so excited about this school. I have been accepted to other programs, but MUCOM seems like an incredible program that is going to skyrocket! Crossing my fingers that my interview goes well!

No. In their complete email, they say it takes 3 weeks for an interview decision. I would check your spam folder and then call them.

Anyone else think the 100$ secondary fee is a bit exorbitant?
That is a serious hit to anyone who has to work to pay for these app. fees.

Yeah, I should really have applied for the waiver thing. The school looks bitchin though, so I coughed up the hundred bucks.

At least it's not the $200 that Touro NY asks for their consideration. That's wayyyy too much. $100 is just a little too much.

Wow, thank God I have absolutely no intention of going there. I only applied to schools I am interested in/in my region. That 200 fee is absurd. Why on earth would a school require applicants to pay that much? The first thing that comes to mind is $$$.

There are probably several reasons. They may see it as a way to keep applicants who are not serious from applying. Plus, a little extra revenue never hurts, right?

Hi guys! I decided to apply somewhat last-minute for this cycle and now I'm waiting on my primary application to get verified. I've got an MCAT of 25 with 11V/7B/7P, a cGPA of 3.72, sGPA of 3.73, I'm the President of an A cappella team, and I've had experience researching, shadowing, and volunteering. Do you guys think I still have a realistic shot at being accepted? My concern isn't really with my academics, it's more just applying late and the timing of everything. Thanks!

I think you've got a realistic shot. Your MCAT Is your only obvious weakness, but it is within the range that is acceptable. Everyone will like your A Capella experience, and your gpa is great. If you are from Indiana I would say you have a good chance at Marian. If your not then it's less, but still probably worth trying. Good luck!

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone knows around when the COMLEX pass rates will be posted for the third year class that wrote them? I think it's a pretty big factor when deciding which school! Anyone have any idea?

+1 I would love to know this as well. USMLE data would be great too.

Accepted! Interviewed on 10/3.

Any tips for MMI interview? This will be my first one! Congrats to those accepted!

It's fun. Just be open-minded and be yourself (vague, I know). Good luck with the interview!

I appreciate the response! I totally get that you have to be vague. Thanks for the advice though and congrats again! I'm hoping to be in your shoes in a few weeks!

Not sure why I just got a secondary... I've been complete since September. Do you guys think it's too late to apply? Does this school screen applicants?

Congrats ! When were you complete ?

For those with IIs, what dates were available? Only saw December available.

Poor question, but when you guys got your II's, did you receive it via email or through the portal? Is there any point to checking the portal if I'm 100% complete?

I got my II via email. I just checked my portal, and the interview tab is now open for selecting dates. I just checked my portal last night and it didn't do me any good since they hadn't invited me for an interview yet. Just patiently wait for that email! Best of luck to you! No question is a poor question 😉

Anyone also know how full this class is yet, or acceptances/IIs given out?

You're really nice, thank you.

Hello everyone,

If I have an update to my MCAT, should I wait for AACOMAS to receive it or would it be best to email/call and let the school know? Thanks

Just got the complete email and my application has been forwarded to a member of the Ad Com. Getting closer!

I've been complete for a few weeks, now just hoping/waiting to receive that II! Looks like a great place to spend 4 years!

Bleh. So apparently they need my physician LOR to have a handwritten signature. I got an email about it at the beginning of this month, so I rushed over to my doc's office to let her know.

Then she went on vacation lol. She was back yesterday. Gotta talk to her tomorrow about that.
