*~*~* Official Class of 2023 Thread *~*~*

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I probably won't be submitting tomorrow. I bribed a few people I know to look over my complete primary application and I'm still waiting to hear back from a couple. Hoping to submit by Monday, though.

Yeah, I don't think it's a big deal. Seems to be the consensus from actual adcoms/advisors on here that the difference between May 31 and like June 4 or 5 is negligible.

Oh, I'm not worried about it at all. I can' imagine that submitting even in a month and a half would really have a noticeable effect on my application. I just like to get things done, so I want to submit ASAP!

Honestly, yeah, it doesn't matter at all. I edited mine heavily early May and pretty much burned out on it by mid-May. It's as good as it's going to get so I'm just submitting June 1 since it's all done. I've been focusing on secondaries but going lightly on those so I don't burn out like I did on the primary. I'll have to pick up my pace on those soon but I've been enjoying the rest of May by taking my time on them.

Who's ready to submit tomorrow?

I’m planning on submitting tomorrow but I’ve been editing and re-editing all month.

For those getting ready still, printing out the physical application and combing through it with a red pen was really helpful. I found a lot of little errors that way.

I'm ready to submit but I'm gonna hold off for a few days and review it very carefully just to be safe.

I did this as well. Caught a few tiny errors and made revisions.

Just submitted to 4 schools that I've completed the secondaries for. Will add the rest as I go so I make sure I don't get overburdened and end up wasting money.

The new popup on the application about submitting terrifies me a bit. I keep worrying I'm going to accidentally click Submit instead of No.

I swear the application is designed to stress out applicants as much as possible.:poke:

It won't matter if you misclick. There's an entire extra submission form where you won't possibly submit on accident. I had to agree to so many things that I think I may have just signed a lease without realizing it.

Well, that's good to know!

I'm telling you, the whole thing is one giant stress test.

LOL I was thinking the exact same thing. Mine was around 11:10. Which means 20,000 apps between me and you.
Did you get the status that your app is on hold until all your transcripts are in? Mine were already all in, so I was like uh... Then the neuroticism kicked in, and I checked the status like every ten minutes until it changed to ready to review lol.

LOL mine were in already too actually so I checked it once and then it changed when I checked it an hour later. When do we get our calculated gpa scores and such? I also submitted my D.O app (7 D.O. and 18 M.D.) and it was there in minutes.

gotta save up your neuroticism, we're in it for the long haul now

No idea. I have 10 transcripts, so I’m assuming it’s going to take a hot minute.

Well I didn’t think I was going to be able to submit until Monday, so the suddenness of it ramped up the neuroticism slightly. I’m hoping I can blow off some of it before my mcat (which holy **** is in 29 days!).

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think that as long as you submit by 6/15 or so, your application will get send to adcoms at the same time as someone who sent in at 8 AM on 5/31?

Considering the fright of not making it, it feels good to call myself class of 2023 :')))

AMCAS gets pretty backed up towards the end of this month. To give you perspective, I submitted my primary 6/19 and it didn't get verified until 7/13. Didn't really have any bearing on my successful cycle, however.

Isn't there a file floating around with average verification times based on submission date?
