What’s the point of having July and August deadlines if they’re sending out invites within weeks of opening apps in May? Very discouraging and almost unethical in my opinion.

I agree. I still don’t understand the UT Houston invite(s). Are we sure this is accurate? One week after apps seems off to me. Is it possible that one superstar applicant got an early invite, but the “invites” haven’t all gone out yet? They usually go out end this week.

Too early to panic. Many of these programs will have interviews on the same days. So some of these applicants with early interviews may be forced to cancel or decline some. Don’t let this thread stress you out. I also know this is easier said than done as it did stress me out when I applied

It’s getting quicker and quicker every year. Georgia was July 30th when I applied. LSU July 18th. Indiana August 2nd. They are all just playing the game.
I just made sure to make it known in my PS that I would like to be considered for next year as well. Might as well get a jump on them as well

For the VA what email did it come from?

meanwhile adea pass thinks its no biggie to delay processing of documents b/c of these fake deadlines

When sending ADAT scores does it make sense that for each school you send it to there is an additional charge? or am I doing it wrong lol

Would it be useless to apply to the programs that already sent out interview invites?

Would it be useless to apply to the programs that already sent out interview invites?
No. Just because some people received interview invites does not mean all of the interview spots have been filled. And keep in mind as the cycle progresses people that accepted interviews will decline them and spots will open up. If you never apply, you’ll never have a shot.

Has anyone heard from UMKC, Kentucky, or Loma Linda ? I haven’t been able to pay a fee or do their supplemental app.

Is this accurate for NYU? June 18th is very early for interviews...

Damn, kinda ballsy making their applicants just decide on an acceptance offer a month early like that.
The whole process is f-ed up. NYU interviewing a fortnight before deadline but will continue accepting applications; UTH sending out invites a WEEK into the cycle but will continue accepting applications; Indiana, Langone, Georgia, etc sent out invites 3 weeks into the cycle with July deadlines and will continue accepting applications. Why not just call the candidates you liked on paper and offer them the position and shut the cycle for the program instead of wasting everyone's time and money?! The same 15-20 candidates get interviews everywhere. I know of a program that invited 24 people to fill 4 spots, only 11 showed up for the interview cos 13 got offers elsewhere. The program did not even bother inviting other candidates to fill those open interview spots. I will never understand what this whole application charade is for. #rantover

Ya this interview process is wild for sure. So Langone sent out interviews as well? I didn't see anybody update the school list with that date.

The only way to fix the process is to band together and revolt. No one accept an interview and it will really show them.

It's nice not having to deal with match and waiting until December to know where you're going, but it only really works if schools don't take advantage of the process. They want us to play by unwritten rules of staying put once you accept an offer, but they just do whatever works best for them.

We gotta play by these rules, yet somehow applicants would be frowned upon if they decided to rescind one offer and accept another 🤷🏻‍♂️, like why wouldn’t I want to pick what’s best for me, assuming of course I even get anything to begin with

So are these programs that sent out invites, are these the only invites they’re sending out? Or are they sending out more invites as more apps come in?

UT Houston invite (6/4 by email) for interview (7/12). I'm going through previous threads trying to get an idea of common interview questions. Does anyone have an actual list? Thanks in advance and good luck!
When did you submit your app? I just submitted Tuesday and this is one of my top choices.

The same reason why the whole thing hasn't gone to MATCH, which IMO is better for the candidates and the programs...

There's a not-small percentage of program directors that get off on this competition amongst the applicants (but also with each other to nab the best applicants)

Nyu and the bigger schools will continue to invite more applicants later as well. They have like 5 interview dates. Apply if you haven’t already.

What does UCLA require for supplemental app other than the fee?
They don't require the fee, the fee is for international applicants. I mailed them my supplemental application.
