You'll get good information on admitted student day. Some recommendations from me: on hwy 75 and 81st there are two newer apt complexes. Look into then now and lock in for a lot cheaper rate than the summer rate. They also tend to carry a wait list.

There's also the apts right by the school. A little more ghetto in trade of cheaper pricing and lower transportation costs. There's stuff all up and down riverside too but I don't know of anything specific.

Thanks! Just curious, where did you do your rural rotation?

The apartments right by the school are called Westport.

I am signing a lease at Nickel Creek which is about 10 mins away south on 75. It's a newish complex that a handful of students live at.

Join the facebook group and I think a couple of MS-Is sounded off on good places to live.

Got waitlist letter Friday. Iterviewed 2 weeks ago. What does waitlist mean? Do they waitlist everybody not accepted? Are there ANY rejections or is waitlist the easy let down?

Waitlist means that you are qualified to go there and they are willing to teach you but it's a maybe for acceptance. No not everyone gets a waitlist letter. Some do get rejections. OSU does waitlist a lot of people who get accepted. It's not a bad thing at OSU to be waitlisted. I was on the waitlist since November 14th. If OSU is your first choice you can write the admissions committee a letter of intent thanking them for the interview and assuring them that OSU is your first choice and guaranteeing your matriculation if accepted. But if you do say that be sure and go or don't try and do any residencies at an OSU hospital because they will remember. Hope this helps. It's a long waiting game but don't throw in the towel yet. Good luck!

Waitlist is not a bad thing. I was on the waitlist for about a month as well. Just make sure OSU knows how much you want to attend and be sure to update them with any new grades etc.

Did anyone from the 6th , 7th , or 8th interviews hear back?

Hey guys,

I didn't get in this cycle but I'm wondering how much being an out of state applicant had to do with it. For all of you accepted students, do you have a sense of how many are in-state or regional?

Thanks!

I believe that typically between 85 and 90% of accepted students (or matriculants?) are Oklahoma residents.

i think it might've been more factors. what was your gpa/mcat? when did you apply? do you have any in state ties? where you rejected pre/post interview? these things can help us answer your question more accurately.

The waiting game is killing me... anyone hear anything from interviews on like 5/6/7?

It's my guess they were off for spring break and don't count that week as part of the 2-3 weeks of hearing back. I wouldn't be surprised if notifications are recieved early next week.

Interviewed in the first week of March... Hoping for good news. Anyone else interview 1st week of March (or later) and got notice?

I was also accepted today! Recieved my call around 2:30 or so.

Interviewed on March 5th
28 MCAT
3.7 CGPA
3.5 SGPA

Anyone know how full the class is at this point?

There are 90 people on the FB group. Some are MSI at OSU are in the group but I'm sure there are still some that haven't join the group so probably about 90 still.

Not at all lol. Is that very important? Because I am interested in being a physician for the underserved.

Not very important. Could be helpful though.

Underserved will always help with DO schools. I would say it could be worth it to apply if you have a competitive app. Not many people come from out of state but I wonder how many apply since it's a state school.

Just called Lindsey to get an update from her. The class is full at this point and the only wait list changes that will occur from here on out will be if accepted individuals go to other schools.

Best of luck to anyone still on the waitlist. Don't give up on this cycle just yet. Be sure to stay in touch with the school, send any more grades or anything you get. Someone got accepted during orientation week last year so anything is possible.

Thanks for the positive support! Crossing my fingers!

Giving up my spot. It was a tough decision, though. I hope one of you gets it!

Did anyone hear of any recent news / acceptances / movement ??

Did anyone go to the Admitted Student Day yesterday?

If so, how many incoming students showed up?

Also, did they mention anything about the new curriculum? Earlier during the year they didn't have any specific details about it.

Yes I went. There was about 20-30 people there. They kind of covered the new curriculum but didn't go in depth with how it works. They said that they have combined the systems in all the classes to learn all aspects of a certain system together rather than one subject like biochem, anatomy, pharm etc at one time.

In general, new curriculum will have anatomy, biochem, Omm, and something else first semester of first year. Starting 2nd semester of first year you will do systems based blocks over the next year and a half. It will integrated a review of anatomy, histology, physiology, pathology and biochem into blocks so you learn every aspect of a system simultaneously

Someone at admitted students day on Saturday came off the wait list the day before. Also, someone else will be withdrawing soon in light of a recent acceptance, so there will be a slot opening shortly. Hopefully you have all sent updates. Good luck waitlisters, hopefully you get good news soon.

Hey guys, I hate to say it, but I'll be withdrawing my acceptance at OSU. Hopefully one of you can fill my spot! Good luck, everyone!

4 years of interviews and wait lists followed by rejections each time and this makes the fourth 🙄 I tried to be a DO.

Fortunately, I got accepted to OU Med this time. Good luck to all and don't give up if you really want it. I did.

Just got my rejection email this morning after being waitlisted in November. Do you mind elaborating a bit on your story?
