Hey everybody!

I've gotten into both Hofstra and Chicago Medical School and WL at Drexel. I really like what Hofstra has to offer and all their patient interaction from the get-go, but a little concerned with them being a new medical school and not being able to hear how the last years have gone for graduates. Looking for some input? Opinions? Any current Hofstra students willing to share some experiences? All is welcome and appreciated. Thanks!!

I wouldn't be concerned about Hofstra. North Shore is legit. You'll come away with a solid clinical foundation.

Personally, I like Hofstra, Drexel, then CMS.

Rmemeber that Hofstra also has graded HW/Essays . that immediately detracts me 😛

Hofstra student here. Just replying to the poster above, yes we have weekly essays. As far as graded, if you turn the essay in you get full credit- no matter what you write. And the essay is really a review of the material for the week. Personally I choose Hofstra over Drexel. Didn't interview at CMS so I can't say anything, but overall I've been really happy with Hofstra. I have no doubts that we'll match well. The resources at NS-LIJ are incredible.

Great - thank you! Hofstra is sounding good and the NS-LIJ resources are very appealing. Are there any students going into rotations that have any input? Again, very much appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

The good thing about Hofstra is that it has a lot of resources. If you are the more outgoing type of personality, you could take advantage of the opportunities there and network from the get-go.

CMS is graded the first 2 years which may be stressful. But my friend graduated from there and he said that he had a good experience there during his rotations (went to high/top gsurg residency).

CMS is pass/fail starting this year.
