Stanford or UCLA(Full ride)?

I've been accepted into both Stanford and UCLA. However, I was offered the David Geffen Scholarship at UCLA so I would graduate with zero debt. I would still get some financial aid from Stanford, but not a full ride. It's a really tough decision and I'd like to hear people's thoughts on it.

UCLA without a second thought, however you'd lose nothing by contacting Stanford, informing them of your aid from UCLA and seeing if they might be able to give you something comprable. If you really like Stanford that is.

Stanford is less than an hour drive from where I live

Essentially, it all comes down to whether Stanford has any advantages that are worth the extra $. Only you can determine this.

UCLA, no-brainer. Full ride is huge.

But yeah, try to see if Stanford can up the aid when you get your package.

If this were a debate between Stanford and full ride somewhere like SIU then it might be worth considering. UCLA is strong enough that only a full ride somewhere else could deter me from that. Take the money. Your future self and family (if you want one) will be thankful for that decision in 10 years.

I would choose Stanford if it wasn't a ton of debt. Really look at the numbers. Think about where you'll be happiest and how much that is worth to you. Congrats on some fantastic options though!
