So I'm waitlisted here and thought it would be cool if we started a support group to share info and help each other through this process.

I think posters should also specify which waitlist they are on (HPA vs regular) since Upstate has two waitlists.
I emailed Jennifer Walsh about my waitlist rank and I got something along the lines of, "If you do not hear by June please contact us". So she didn't tell me anything. Unless she means I'm in a good place and if I do not hear by June then the Waitlist has absolutely no movement. I mean she did use an exclamation mark at the end of the email.. very hopeful..oops- my bad- I assumed you were referring to people on the HPA list only, since it is nearly impossible to get off of the regular (Hold by Committee) waitlist at Upstate.
So, everyone I put on the list, as far as I know, is HPA.
Has anyone called/emailed yet to find out where you are on the list/what your chances are of getting accepted off the list?
When did you send this email? They did not give me any information about if I was in a good or bad position when I emailed in early March. 🙁hey funky,
I also e-mailed Jennifer inquiring about my position. Someone else responded saying that I am in a very good position and they have gone way beyond my position to offer spots in recent years. This is gist of the wording with regards to my inquiry. I hope we all get in. Best of luck.
Anyone out there made inquiries and care to share what Upstate had to say?
Btw, if there are only the 5 of us on this list, we have good chances, wouldn't you say🙂

by the way, interviews have been over since mid-march. Now people just need to hurry up and withdraw! Tell everyone to go somewhere else!!![]()
alright! HPAer over here.
good luck guys!!!! I'm rooting for you
Anyone here interested in the Summer Anatomy program?
Hey Riceman, have you decided on Upstate?
yeah...as much as I loved Upstate I have decided to withdraw my spot. I always hate to say "no thanks" just b/c I feel honored to have been offered a spot; however, I do not want to delay the joy another applicant may be hoping to feel when he/she is accepted.
So I feel bad b/c I do like Upstate, but I know my decision will benefit someone else.
Fede, I just wanted to send some good luck your way. Thanks for the kind words in the Jeff Thread!!
-and best wishes to the rest of you as well. Hang in there and stay positive!
does anyone know when the HPA will start moving? Getting anxious here...😛
just emailed again abt my status on the HPA, got the same response "still too early to tell @ this pt" & but they did mention that they would be making some changes to the process this yr.
GREAT! way for them to be very specificjust emailed again abt my status on the HPA, got the same response "still too early to tell @ this pt" & but they did mention that they would be making some changes to the process this yr.
Welcome, stephentyler20!
Sadly, I don't think calling every few days will be very helpful. My understanding is that once we have gone to committee and have been reviewed and placed/ranked on the HPA list, we will not be reviewed again. I think that (unfortunately) all we can do is wait at this point.
However, you may want to call now and find out what your chances are of getting in-- the admissions office will not tell you where you are on the list but they can give you some sense of whether or not you will be waiting for a long time and if they have gotten to your place on the list in recent years. Also, for anyone who has the courage, feel free to ask what the supposed "changes" are to the process this year!!🙂
Hopefully a lot of people who are not interested in attending Upstate will begin to withdraw soon...so those of us suffering on this list will have a chance to be accepted!![]()
Anyone care to speculate whether or not they expect significant movement of the waitlist given the recent tuition increases?
I guess it's probably not a big deal for in-staters but $40,000/yr might scare away some OOS![]()
