Time To Get a WWatch - Game Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I also think PSV townslipped (IMO, opinions may differ here). I can find the actual post, but I was saying something about wolf cover roles and she pointed out that parts of the header were copy-pasted from an earlier game so that may not actually be the case. That's a thought that I would not expect a wolf to have there. Like, it's towny lack of TMI about whether wolves do in fact have cover roles. (Not sure if this explanation makes sense, but there it is)

By vote movements, I think the trend of samac+ new people being in the wagons is kinda consistent too? Tho I am throwing this argument as brainspew and not checking really.

But assuming a team of three, the first thought that crosses me is Nate+2 regulars. Or like, highly likely that there are 2 regulars? Should check unpairings there . But its also true that I could be for the more quiet playstyle in general that is apparent kinda

Samac thoughts on the slot, they were giving a fairly confident tr there. That + the EoD seemed like they didnt have a partner at risk for sure (Unless its True, and if it is the timing of that defense still is super weird) .

I think they are Rand>V tbh
"Didn't have a partner at risk" does not equal town, though. I agree that it didn't seem like they had a partner at risk, but that can also mean that there wasn't a wagon on a wolf at that point.

I’m village reading her but I don’t think this is the townslip you think it is. It had already been mentioned that the rules were copied from an old game.

A wolf could just as easily be like “hey wolves may not have cover roles” even if they DID to try and make their reveals more convincing

So why is my vote on Sporty. I'm not totally seeing the towniness that others have mentioned there? She's seemed very surface-level when she's been around. I admit I was townreading her catch-up near EOD yesterday, but that's also easy to do (and an easy thing to do to "look busy" if no wolves were in danger). Her strongest take has seemed to be the PSV townread which is based on not seeing a secret wolf tell, which is an all-timer for "easiest town read to fake" because it doesn't require pointing at actual content. (And.... I haven't gotten the sense that she's been caught up at any point, so I'm not sure why she'd be confident that PSV hasn't done whatever this wolf tell is..?)

I'd appreciate thoughts there.
I'm not sure where I land on Sporty because I don't agree with her PSV take. It's nice to be on the same page (literally) with her most of this game though.

Yeah, I was rereading through to see if I could find where PSV said that and I came across samac saying it even before PSV posted for the first time.

Also, I think that April is p wolfy either way? Like, I dont think their reaction to Nate role makes much sense. Cuz even if we assume they forgot that the item they received from me related to a fruit vendor, that relates to fruit vendor being a unfamiliar role to them.

So then comes Nate claiming that way with so much wait, and get a counterclaim. And they take both at face value ? I don't see that making much sense from their PoV? Maybe regulars sanity check me if this is too crazy .

Like, even if we assume Nate is V, it could be a TMI read cuz in that case they knew Nate was telling the truth and didnt felt weird the cc of a role they were unfamiliar to begin with.

I remember some mention that the game info was copy-pasted, but not specifically wrt the rules. Idk

Why are you townreading Nate if not for the mechanical stuff @JaggedJimmyJay ?
What do you think of Empire opposite take on Nate on that? (With which I agree more tbh)

Exercise for the room:

If you were to pretend for a moment that mechanics and claims don't exist whatsoever, what do your reads look like right now?
The same as they are, really. You've maybe fallen a spot or two with the odd focus on Samac's role, which felt fairly settled to me. It just doesn't seem like a productive thing to spend time chewing on; more like something that appears busy and productive.

Nonetheless, do not take any flavor claim at face value until we know what the wolves look like.
Given every game I've seen from Zenge and Dubz, there's not a chance in hell that flavor should factor into any of our votes.

Not playing like I expect a mafioso with a big tally lead to play. I think Empire’s view is a bit uncharitable.

I might just vote Nate anyway. I don’t have any better ideas.

If there’s anything that I am not doing right now, it’s laugh. I’m starting to get cranky! Irritated! Mad babyrage!

(I’m confused, and I don’t think I have been able to effectively communicate why or to what extent, so *throws hands up*)

I feel like as a wolf she might be more hyperaware any vending action if she w/w with Nate.

I am about to do my examIn anxious af help.

Also feeling naughty

Unteet Nate
Yeet April

This wagon formation something something 😅

Code:
Nate 4 (JJJ, Clem, Santy, Empire)
JJJ 1 (PSV)
Empire 1 (April)
PSV 1 (AM)
April 1 (Truey)
Sporty 1 (Nate)
AM 1 (Sporty)
If there are three mafia and you are town, then this elimination would [probably] be the last mistake we are allowed. Accordingly, it could be an emergency. I don't sense much urgency from you. What's your mindset?

You’re playing different.

I just noticed the lack of 20Q. Contemplating that.

Still okay with a Nate yeet, but no point in piling on rn.
Ignoring the fact that I yeeted Nate and have continued to pressure him, I've questioned plenty of people this game. I'm going to give you a chance to recant.

She's 20Q'd me, at least.

I am pretty sure she's village AM.

sure.

I'm still allowed to sit on your vote while I read.
Add this to your reading material.
I actually was just finishing typing this when both Coffee asked for it and Dubz came back:

Been waiting for Dubz to come back, but I really need to disappear to study, so I need to say this now. I simply do not see how AM is village. When I asked for her last games, I wanted to double check that she still plays the way I remember her playing, and she does. Even when she's in a village panic-spiral, she's playing 20Q. I've hardly seen any questions from her the last few days. More importantly, she has not posted a single tally this game. This has historically, without exception, been a giveaway for AM.

And like, sure, if you guys want to take her "second" post as evidence of wolfiness, go ahead. Whatever makes you happy. Just lynch her for god's sake.

Unfortunately, I'm just as lost as the rest of you. But I think my wagon is all or almost all town, so I'm not giving up yet (and having to miss this EOD is, uh, poor timing).

(Setting aside for a moment that I know I'm town), I don't really understand wolfreading my claim. In the scenario where I'm a wolf, I think it would be reasonable for the wolf team to expect that I would be POE again today. And the plan for that was.. to claim something that ties me to the nightkill, unprompted? The responses that are "it's FPS, just kill it" are more understandable to me (which I think Clem falls under and at least your initial reaction leaned that way).

Yeah, people brought up an earlier case of PSV doing it as a wolf, but in that case she knew she was blocked so there was known mech info to get out ahead of.

Thanks for indulging my questions. Gun to your head, you have to name two mafia right now. Who?

well, that's my memory failure then. I will properly reassign it.

Regardless, people are allowed to vote for you and this conversation happens every game someone votes for you.
And I'm going to continue to hold people accountable every time. I expect to see improvement by 9EDT.

Who here has played with Nate, again?

Do we have any sense of metanalysis?

Sorry if this has been asked already.
Spectated once, played once. He was town in both. I was mafia when we played. I have only vague impressions. I think he looks similar to his town games in spirit, albeit at a level that wouldn't be terribly difficult to replicate. This is a big part of my struggle today.

Why would PSV be blocked?

Don't know how I got myself into the middle of a game that consists of some of the best SDNers and a bunch of outside ringers.

This is sehr stressig.
