Hi all,

I'm trying to decide Tufts vs NYU (accepted off the waitlist). Money is about equivalent, slightly more to Tufts. I've lived in Boston before but not in NYC, although I think either I'd be okay with. Are there other factors I should be thinking about in the decision? Any recommendations?

Thanks!

NYU. Tufts isn't really in Boston. NYU is a stronger program. NYC is somewhere new - go explore new things while you're still young. NYC has better food

edit: I stand corrected; the medical school is apparently in Boston!

All things being equal your best program offer and likely spot for best opportunities lay at NYU

There are halal carts around all the midtown hospitals. Enough said.

NYU also has more money, so you are more likely to pick up funding later (not definitely, but more likely). NYU's hospitals I believe has less competition with other hospitals than Tufts does and a lot of interesting pathology. NYU's home residency programs are more highly regarded as are their hospitals. Both are cool though

NYU.

Top 20 hospital, major research funding, and a very strong national vs. regional reputation.

Difficult to justify paying more to attend one of the most expensive medical schools in the U.S. if you'd be happy living in either city.

Both links below are from 2014, so not sure if accurate for 2016:

Congrats on both options.
