thanks, I appreciate the response. I am planning on pursuing a career in surgery and my state school seems to be struggling lately. their thread is saying that 25% of their class didn't match this year! I'm not sure what that means but its a little frightening.

that would scare me too. You can never be 100% sure if it's the school or the students, but it would make me think twice before signing the dotted line.

Hey,

How do people find that kind of information (i.e. about schools matching/not matching)? Is there some kind of site(s) anyone can recommend?

Tx 🙂

I have just submitted my written confirmation to withdraw my Cornell acceptance offer. Good luck to those who are still waiting.

I too have withdrawn my acceptance offer. I hope that the spot goes to one of you, especially if Cornell is your first choice. Good luck everyone!

What made you decide against Cornell? Where are you deciding to go--if you don't mind answering? Same for the others if they care to comment...

Hey all,

I just received an email acceptance off the waitlist! This complicates my plans but I'm very excited and definitely considering Cornell. FYI I did not send any updates/letters. I received an email last week from admissions asking if I was still interested in Cornell and I responded that I was (but did not state my intent to matriculate if accepted).

Good luck guys :luck:

congrats!! did you get any correspondence before the offer?

Nope. I made a call or two to make sure they got my letters. But the e-mail was a direct admission.

I was accepted off the waitlist last Friday. I was at my sister's graduation from college and happened to check my email. I was totally floored.

Unfortunately, I withdrew today. It was a difficult decision, but I got some other waitlist-love that totally blew my mind.

Best of luck to the rest of you!!

thanks for making these posts, it keeps my hopes alive

Hey all,

I was recently accepted off the wait list and have a quick question for you.

How was the financial aid you received? I am particularly interested in the expected familial contribution. I think that is the factor that will be the deal breaker for me, if it is too high. Thanks, and if you want to PM me, that’s cool too.

I sadly withdrew my spot at Cornell today. Very hard decision! For personal reasons, NYC isn't the place for me right now. Maybe later...

Hopefully that opens up a spot for one of you on the waitlist!

Hi Linguini,
I know you were excited about Cornell. Will you be attending Northwestern, pending hearing from Penn? I have been following your progress and know you will do well wherever you end up. Congratulations on a great application season!

That is so nice! 😀 Thank you!

Yes, since I will more than likely not get off of the waitlist at Penn, I will be going to Northwestern in August! I'm very happy with my decision, though it was a hard one to make, especially when it came down to Cornell and NU. I'm both excited and a little nervous to get started!

The cornell waitlist has moved again this week (as indicated by the facebook group). Does anyone know how late the waitlist should move? ive pretty much thrown the towel at this point and dont want to get my hopes up for getting off the waitlist. especially since it looks like it moves every two weeks

On my interview day one current student said they came off the waitlist in August. Hopefully it won't come to that!

hey guys, I have just withdrawn from cornell this evening. good luck to everyone on the waitlist. keep showing interest!
