I got that email and have not been accepted. I also get the weekly reminders that they are still missing some of my information (Hi, Dad!).

Alright, forget it. I'm not calling. They probably just want the FAFSA anyways under the extreme circumstance we get put on the waitlist and get in eventually.

So does anyone know how Emory's waitlist goes? For example, do we just get a letter through the mail letting us know we're on the waitlist, or does it actually mention whether we're high or low on the waitlist?

i really dont understand emory. this whole thing is really frustrating. emory is definitely my top choice and after not receiving a letter in the mail this past week ive been pretty bummed. why do they keep sending us emails if we havent been accepted? i find it so strange that they dont separate the applicants from those who have been admitted. is there anyone who hasnt received the email?

They could at least wait until we've received our waitlist letters. It seems kinda ridiculous to be overnighting financial aid info and checking my financial aid status online when I don't even know what my admission status is.

Yep, I think everyone's OPUS is the same. Mine doesn't even say I'm accepted, or have any financial info, etc., but I was accepted back in November. I do have the learnlink and Emory e-mail address though, you have to go to "E-mail addresses" under personal information.

I personally love the fact that Emory is sending me emails even though ive probably been wait listed. It makes me feel like ive already been accepted!!!

I would guess they are now reviewing all the rest of the applications to decide where to put us on the waiting list now....if at all.

By the way, does anyone know where the 09-10 verification sheet is? I've looked several times around the financial aid web page under health professions and medicine, and I can't find it. Would anyone mind putting up a link?

yar same here- Kinda sucks that they don't start taking people off till June. I wonder if they wait till may 15th, see how many spots they have, then go back through everyone and rank us?

I would think Emory would want to keep all the applicants they interviewed on the table for admission.

I did, and pretty soon after I sent it too. But I might have just been really quick about it and sent it before they got a ton of responses. Still, if it's been several days, I'd go ahead and email again.

In case anyone wants to know... looks like Financial Aid is starting to be posted in OPUS.. just happened to log in tonight to check.

Big Whopping pile of Federal Loans for me.. 🙁

Although they updated the COA for this year, and surprisingly it didn't go up as much as a lot of the other schools seemed to.

Looks like I might have to re-think Emory 🙁🙁

I'm not sure how meaningful this is but I've heard from an alumnus that Emory's alternate status is pretty competitive. They don't just dump interviewees they haven't accepted into the alternate pool.

Hopefully this means everyone on the alternate list has a fighting chance of being accepted eventually...

Man, I just want to get accepted off that waitlist. I'd be great to get accepted here.

I'm hoping quite a few spots will open up.

Edit: I was curious and went back and looked through old SDN Emory Waitlist threads. In the words of my old magic 8 ball, "outlook looks bleak." Seems like movement doesn't occur until the end of June and they usually double-book the class. I'm ready to wait it out though, I really want to go here.

I was told by the adcom that they initially accept about double their class size. This could be why waitlist movement typically doesn't happen until july.

Hmm that's strange...from my experience with Emory's admissions office, they usually take around 2 weeks to respond to e-mails. I bet they haven't checked their e-mail yet to record that you withdrew. Looks like you got in though.
