I wasn't expecting to hear back until January so when I got one of those background check emails this morning I freaked out! The only other school that does those through AMCAS that I interviewed with already made their decision, so I was super nervous as I logged into Temple's website!

Accepted! 😀

I submitted my grades as soon as they came out, and the next day I was accepted! So I'm in!
 
you said you got waitlisted earlier in the thread shriken...did that really turn into an accpetance that quickly or was there something weird with your app that made them put you on the waitlist for a little bit?

Anyone else out there happen to get off the waitlist or is that sort of thing going to be happening later in the year?
 
I was "waitlisted" pretty much a full week or two before I got the letter letting me know I was on the waitlist, I had actually e-mailed my grades for fall 2008 the day before, and so the day afterwards I was accepted, sort of like this:

Waitlisted -1week-> e-mail grades -1day-> receive letter about waitlist -1day-> online status changed to accepted
 
for the accepted students--how long do you have to put the deposit down to keep your spot? i did not really see it in the letter they have online. do you they send you an acceptance letter as well?

i am most likely going to UMDNJ-RWJ but was just curious about the time frame they give you at Temple to hold a spot.

It says it's a 100 dollar refundable deposit (correct me if I'm wrong), and it didn't give a timeline
 
has anyone gotten any interview invites since coming back from the holidays?
 
Anybody hear anything from Temple recently, or know if the adcom even met last Friday?
 
i am still 'under review' after 5 months of being complete ...

Seriously, I'm so irritated with this school. I've sent them 2 in the area emails and an update letter. Yet they don't have the decency to reply to any of them.

I've noticed all of the Philly schools are like this. I would probably turn down an interview invite at this point, but I still want to see if they make one 🙂

Just wanted to let everyone who is still waiting to hear from Temple, that I did call today to get more information. She said that (like every school) they received more apps than expected and that everyone would receive notice of application decisions - good or bad. When I asked if they sent these out progressively or all at once she said she thought (but didn't know) that they came out over time. She also said that interview invitations would go out through March and that they planned to interview into April this year.

This may not be helpful...but I thought I would share what I heard.

Got the "Correspondence Mailed" status update today, so looks like it's either a waitlist or a rejection - damn 🙁
 
Anyone hear anything about acceptances recently from Temple? I interviewed back in December and am anxious to find out anything I can. I know my interviewer said the admissions department is backed up by about 6 weeks, but still.....c'mon!

I guess everyone gets different statements, I interviews couple of weeks ago and I was told that they were only a week behind. I'm really anxious to find out

Yeah, I guess so. I just remember hearing that I probably wouldn't find out by December, but for sure by January, according to their office. But, that was mentioned to me during my interview 6 weeks ago and things could've changed. 😕
 
Anyone have a status change today? At my interview (Jan 14), they said we would hear something either Today or the first week in Feb. They did mention they were playing major catch-up, but said with some confidence people may hear sooner than later.

I haven't either. I'm in the same position and am wondering what's up. I thought we would've heard by now.
 
I was just wondering when most ppl applied. I myself applied in November with sub par scores. I got a 27 Mcat and my gpa isn't that great. I was just wondering whether anybody has gotten into temple with such a low score. This is definitly the school I want to go to and even though I barely have a chance I am keeping my hopes up.

For the people that didn't get in; did your Status automatically change to not accepted from under review?

When I was accepted in December, the website showed my status as accepted immediately, but I received the letter in about 5-6 days.

Really? wow, it took about 2 weeks for me to get my letter and I was also accepted in December. But maybe it was because I live across the country and with the holidays there were a few less mail days than normal 😳

yeah i interview 12/3 and just got the "continuing candidates" letter today. this sucks...

snail mail, but my online status changed this past monday to "correspondence mailed".

any one else get this? or know what it really means? i suppose it's just wait list....

I have no idea. Maybe a waitlist from what I've heard? I haven't gotten an update at all. I'm thinking they forgot about me since my interview.

Thanks , and yes the status on the website changed before I received the call. I wouldn't have noticed if I didn't check the site everyday. haha

So I just called the admissions office and the nice lady told me the committee has not met to discuss applicants who interviewed two weeks ago (like me on 1/14). She also said they are not meeting on Friday (tomorrow). Do you think all of this is true?

It sounds like at least one person was accepted that interviewed recently (sounds like perhaps the same as me?), but those in the beginning of Dec are just now hearing things. Does anyone who knows Temple have a decent explanation for this? Thanks! 🙂

Bump. I wanna know this too.
 
Well, this wouldn't be just Temple, but if school X interviews applicant Y in December and applicant Z in January.. yet applicant Z is one of those high stats perfect profile late applicant to medschool.. they are more likely to accept applicant Z first, wait and see if he is interested, then by the time applicant Z decides they can then extend admissions to applicant X.. I hope that made sense
 
Does Temple rank their waitlist, or are the waitlist applications continually reviewed?
 
I was told that the waitlist is ranked, and not looked at until post May 15...... sucks, but we just have to keep waiting i suppose
 
Has anyone checked whether the admissions committee is meeting tomorrow?
 
Well, not necessarily given that they have not met for several weeks now.
